The next and final show of Season 43 is September 8, the back to school special. As for today, the reason for the delay from 5/5 is that a trip to Nepal was offered around earthquake time.

OWP: The accessories claim another victim.

Card: They gave away the Civic this time thanks to a $3K card being drawn.

NoT: I was surprised the Miracle Gro was one of the THEN items.

LeU: I'm glad the Card Game was won today, because there was very slim chance this was going to be won.

SBS: Easy.

P!: A season-best $21.5K was won!

Showcases: I was afraid this might end in a DOB & it did.

My two cents:

One Wrong Price: Tricky setup (accessories or no). 'Nuff said.
Card Game: Piece of cake!
Now or Then: Tough break. I had a feeling the antacid price was still 4.99 today.
Line 'em Up: Tough break. 'Nuff said.
Side by Side: Another piece of cake win!
Plinko: $21,500! What a haul today!

Showcases: The Cinco de Mayo Showcase was cool (and equally as cool as the other Showcase), but it would've been far cooler than  the other Showcase if the car were a Ford Fiesta instead of a Toyota Yaris.

Nevertheless, shame to see a DOB end the show.

The Bad News:

One Wrong Price: A tricky aet-up today with all three picks looking legit. I had a hunch the elliptical was the wrong price, though.

Now or Then: Tough break to get a 2 wrong loss in this game. Part of me thinks they should change the rules of the game so that you have to price all 6 items and get 4 out of the 6 to win, but that's about as likely as the show having nine pricing games and 3 showcases in the bear future. :P

Line 'em Up: Definitely the evil set-up of the day with the repeating 2s at the end. I'm pretty sure most of us wouldn't have won that game either.

Showcases: It's just as well the Nepal showcase wasn't won given the recent events there but sadly both players were just over with very good bids without hindsight.

The Good News:

Card Game: Great win by Gary. I would've stopped at $18,500 as well, as most Civics on the show are around the $19k to $21k range nowadays.

Side by Side: Definitely the gimme game of the day.

Plinko: Definitely the highlight of the show. $21,500 is an impressive haul from that game, and for a change the player dropped their chips towards the middle. Well done, Lina!

Overall a pretty good show today despite the double overbid, though I'm sure Shaun Shaffer has a different opinion over on Game Show Kingdom. :rollold:

My Rating: 6

And that's the bottom line, because Coupon Boy said so. :P ;)

Showcases: The Cinco de Mayo Showcase was cool

It would have been cooler if they left it a Cinco de Mayo showcase. Instead, they awkwardly redid all of George's copy to omit any mention of the day.

It might be the haze of the off-season, but I was pretty bored during most of this episode. Apart from a decent haul in Plinko, not much really happened. Average game selection, average contestants and average offerings make for ... well, you can fill in the blank.

The fact that no one has anything unique to add about this episode apart from a sporadic "neat-o" says it all.

I guess the audience member forgot about the trip to Nepal in the showcases or I missed something. Simple question has simple answer.

I agree with Torgo, the show was just okay. Nice to have a Card win and $20K Plinko, but there just wasn't anything that popped out and screamed at me.

I like how they showed the wide shot of the prizes and it was pretty clear what the third prize was and the answer to it. I didn't like how they stayed on the jib shot for the 1st prize. It just looked odd. The lighting of Plinko also seemed off. The entire stage at the time seemed darker than normal and the board looked pretty bland to me as the first chip dropped. Maybe it was me.

I watched so little Price this summer outside of the first runs, that watching today, I had to remind myself that the gels on the lights in Plinko weren't new.

I don't understand why they felt the need to redo all of George's copy for the Cinco De Mayo showcase. I know it isn't Cinco De Mayo, but the show has rerun holiday shows during the summer in the past and, of all the holiday shows, this one seems like it wouldn't be that confusing to rerun. People know that it isn't Cinco De Mayo since the holiday's name literally translates to the date it takes place on. If people are confused, that's their problem.

Ah Im glad James was back hes fun to have around.

Sad for the showcases in both cases, I thought the trips would have won it as that was a reasonable bid.

As an Australian, I'd just like to let you know Adam, that the city in Showcase #1 is actually spelt CAIRNS. It is pronounced CANNES, but many (like Rich Fields) make the mistake of pronouncing it as if they dropped the I out of the word ie, CARNS.

I guess the audience member forgot about the trip to Nepal in the showcases or I missed something. Simple question has simple answer.
Simple question doesn't necessarily have a simple answer, or an answer you'll like.

Considering I am the person in question, no, I don't remember every detail about every episode of every show.  First, the episode was delayed at least a month and a half after it taped and I do have much more important things to worry about like my job, paying the mortgage, and looking out for my family, definitely of higher importance than "Was a trip to Nepal offered?"  Second, I'm a fan, not an obsessive.  I don't care about the dollar value of prizes modeled by the models and I don't care if "OMG!  The Punchboard is half a degree off kilter!"

In other words, oops!  There was a trip to Nepal which I clearly didn't remember in the excitement of the moment and because, really, in the grand scheme of things, is it that important?

When I said "Simple question has simple answer", I meant that since you didn't remember the trip, we spent the entire summer speculating what it could be that delayed the episode, when in the end it was a simple answer all along.

I don't care that you forgot. There's so much going on that I didn't expect you to remember everything. I was just pointing out that either you had forgotten or that maybe I had misremembered the comments you had made.

Also, my original comment was not trying to say something like "HOW DARE YOU NOT REMEMBER THIS FACT? YOU COULD'VE SAVED US SO MUCH TIME!" Hell, the speculation provided from you forgetting helped fuel conversation during this long, dead summer. I'm sorry you took offense to that.

I know that in the grand scheme of things it wasn't that important. It was a simple little quirk that was interesting, and I took slight offense that you'd think I'd be that stupid to care so much about it.

I didn't really believe it sparked that much speculation.  Fair enough.

And I was sorta disappointed that the episode really wasn't that good, probably the worst or least exciting of the 5 I have seen in person since 2001, but that might have to do with the game line-up more than anything else.  (Not a big Plinko fan but holy wow, what they have done with Card Game.)  Drew and George are a great team.  They kept everybody entertained.
