What? No Father’s Day Special? Discrimination! :)

Wow, Drew’s son is turning 14. Where did the time go? He’s grown up so much right before our eyes.

Happy Flag Day everyone.

Michael played Bonkers very well, as it should be played. Moved the paddles exactly as he should have until he heard the winning bells.

Not a bad playing of Half-Off, either. Even though she went 2-for-3 on the prizes (I was correct on the one she whiffed on), she still had good luck and I'm happy for her winning the $10K.

I disagree that Bonkers was played "as it should be played". Most of us loyal watchers know the trick to Bonkers is in the numbers given. If it's below a 5, it's higher; if it's above a 5, it's lower; if it is a 5, try one of each. If you know this strategy, it's one of the easiest games to win.

That's an interesting observation. I looked back to see how often that's been true and...

Season 47: Always true.
Season 46: Always true except for the first number. There were times the first wrong number was 6 or 7 and the first digit of the prize's price was 8 or 9.
Season 45: False fairly often. Quite a few playings had at least one digit break that rule, and it wasn't always the first digit that broke that rule.

So it may be a new unwritten rule in Bonkers, or just a coincidence for the last season or two.

Although it seems like a logical first (or maybe first couple, if there is a 5 involved) try, since you are going with the odds anyway (being the lower a number is the more options there are that are higher, and the same with a high number having more options being lower).

In the Showcase, the margin between the winning and losing differences was $287.

Wow, I think it may have been the fact that Flag Day fell on the same day as this airing, so that's probably why they didn't have the Father's Day show.
