*DING!*

Some bids did not go through, and here's why:

$777.

Gridlock, appreciate the enthusiasm, but I know the mods typically like new members to spend some time posting in other sections like The Talk is Right before playing in Host Your Own games. The rule is at least 20% of your posts coming from discussions about the current show. Keeping with the rules of the forum, I'm gonna encourage you to make some posts in other sections before declaring you an eligible contestant. Once you've met those requirements, we'd love to have you back for a future HYO.

$1820?

Since TPIRfan#9821 froze at $1818, all bids from $1818-$1837 are off limits.

I’m gonna raise it to $900 and freeze there.

Since this isn't your opening bid, underbidding is not allowed. If you wish to raise, you have to go at least $20 higher than the top bid.

As it stands, the current bids are:

<insert bad joke about gamesurf sniping my post here>

As for my bid, I will reluctantly freeze, though I'm not sure either option is desirable.

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

Unfortunately, I said I'd freeze earlier. I'd have probably upped Jhayprice again.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

*DING!* (my mistake,  #9821; thanks for the honesty)
*DING!*
*DING DING!*

Aaaaaand TIME! Freeze all bids, please!

Biiiiig gap from $1,200 to $1,800. This is easily the widest range of bids we've seen so far.

Moment of truth has arrived. The actual retail price... IS!

Whoa! $1,970, and the winner is aaaaall the way there at the top! Going high paid off for you!

JhayPrice, COME ON DOWN! You’re the next contestant on The Price is Right!

*JhayPrice stands up from his seat and runs down the aisle, up the stairs, and onto the stage*

JhayPrice, you’ve picked a fiiine time to win your way up on stage. Not only have you won that beautiful chaise, but, you’ll also get the chance to win THIS!

*band plays an instrumental version of Jeopardy by the Greg Kihn Band*

It’s a chance to win up to sixteen THOUSAND dollars in cash!

Sixteen thousand dollars! And because Alex Trebek recently celebrated his 80th birthday, we’re paying tribute by temporarily retheming one of our favorite games.

See, on most games, we give you a product and you tell us the price. But in this game, we’ll give you the prices! You’ll have to tell us the products that go with those prices. It's backwards, you see.

And these are the six products you’ll need to know something about in order to win that 16 grand. Won’t you tell us about them, AnnouncerTron?

*the band plays Sound and Vision by David Bowie*

Sure will, gamesurf!

Need a break? This 1.5 oz Kit-Kat bar can be broken into four chocolaty pieces

From Joyoldelf, these gold-leaf playing cards are covered in 24K gold foil of 99.9% purity. Durable, scratch-less, and waterproof, yet shuffable and flexible like any normal bridge-sized deck of playing cards.

This bag of 7 oz. Jelly Belly Jelly Bean contains 30 delicious flavors. Are you a buttered popcorn or juicy pair kind of guy? Why be forced to decide? Try them all!

This 100 count of maximum-strength 10mg melatonin tablets will help you get to sleep faster than a marathon of This Old House.

This DiGiorno Crispy Pan Pepperoni Pizza includes a pan, so you can have the taste of store-bought frozen pizza in your own oven in just minutes!

And, Sea-bond Denture Adhesive wafers! 15 lower denture adhesive wafers are comfortable and easy to use. No mess, no ooze, and a tighter seal than the leading competitor. Bye-bye, ooze; hello, Sea-Bond!

And JhayPrice, we have in front of you five bags with price tags on them. Those five prices correspond to five of the items on that podium. To win the 16 grand, you'll have to tell me, which item goes in which bag?

One of those items is worth 88 cents. Which one is it?
One of them is $12.97. Which of the remaining products belongs in that bag?
And so on, and so on, until all five bags are filled.

Get all five bags right, and that sixteen grand is as good as yours!

*from crowd*

This looks tough, but I'd go Kit Kat/melatonin/jelly beans/pizza/adhesive. The cards are really throwing me off so, like most of my problems, I'm just ignoring them for the time being.
