I just noticed they reset. Did they air the new 50 before they reset? I thought what I saw last night was pre-new 50.

Remind me.  Are we dealing with a rotation of 500 episodes?  That would mean approx 21 days for the full run.
Is that about right, for the moment at least?

A question for those who have been paying closer attention than me: Who ran the giant calculator in Check-Out while Holly took time away from the show?

Janice. In fact, I think Janice ran it for a playing or two after Holly returned, too.

2 questions:

1. What was the last OAD of the last batch of 50 episodes?
2. What was the last OAD of Johnny Olson announcing?

1. Latest episode in rotation so far is May 20, 1985.
2. Johnny's last show is November 21, 1985.

So I would guess we should get to the end of Johnny in the next 100 episodes.

That's probably not the greatest way to phrase that, but yes.

No it wasn't. I always wondered how long Johnny would've gone on announcing if he didn't have the stroke he was 75 at the time of his death. Would he have lasted until the 1990's.

Believe it or not, the oldest living announcer to ever have a permanent role on any version is still Johnny Gilbert, who announced during the ABC run from 1963-1965 and of course continues to greet us weeknights with "This is Jeopardy!" Given that Mr. Olson never missed a taping, I'd wager that he could have easily stayed on perhaps as late as Bob's retirement, given that he would then be around Mr. Gilbert's age today. The policy of not showing the announcer on camera during Bob's final years would have come into play of course, but would have been pretty feasible and perhaps to Olson's benefit.
Now open for tape trading! Please PM me for an offer with a list included.

Seeing as how that actually wasn't a policy, and Fremantle only said that because it sounded better than "there was a salary dispute with Rod, and Bob got pissy about it", it most likely would not have.

Started seeing ads tonight that Pluto is going to show the original episodes of the contestants appearing on the redemption nighttime show on Sunday at 9p E. I guess I’m confused. Are they only showing the eps of those contestants who appeared during the eps shown in the current rotation or are they showing new episodes? Surely not everyone in the redemption show appeared during the mid 80s. And do we have any way of knowing what episodes are being shown Sunday night?

My understanding is that it will be two episodes, featuring two of the nine called contestants. One of the episodes is 4875D. I haven't figured out what the other one is. It's very likely to be from the current rotation, however.

False.  Hi Rod!

From the official twitter/YouTube:
They can be close at the top, too.
