Former wrestling promoter Jim Crockett, Jr., who served several terms as NWA president during the 80s, which time his own Jim Crockett Promotions was arguably the biggest rival to the WWF during its early years of national expansion, passes on at 76 (no link readily available at present, will try and update with one once it becomes available)

Two days late in reporting, but:
Michael Stanley, 72, singer/songwriter/guitarrist (and radio personality in later years) from Cleveland; leader of The Michael Stanley Band, best known for their 1981 hit "He Can't Love You", which was a staple in the early years of MTV.

Allan J. McDonald, the NASA director who refused to sign off on the 1986 Challenger launch for fear that the bitterly cold weather would compromise the ship's boosters, age 83 following a fall and subsequent brain damage.

Murray Walker, one of the greatest British Formula 1 commentators in history passed away at age 97. His commentary was absolutely exceptional and energetic in the 90s and early 2000s. Godspeed good sir  :-(

Tough loss.  During an era where boxing was a big deal; Hagler-Hearns first round is one where you could watch it 12 times in a row, and it'll be more worth it than several boxing matches today.

Yaphet Kotto, who played the villain in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, has passed at the age of 81.
