4th of July 2008 Show!
« on: February 09, 2021, 06:28:03 PM »

With Spanish and English captions/subtitles!

Fixed broken Youtube link. You cannot use the shortened "youtu.be" link generated by hitting the "share" button. Copy/paste the whole link from the URL bar, remove the "s" from the "https://", and you're good to go. I don't know why the Youtube plugin is so wonky...

Also fixed original air date. This is a Season 36 episode, not a Season 37 one.

Yeah the Youtube plugin is wonky here. I'm not sure why, nor am I sure of how to actually fix it. Follow the instructions written in green in the original post.

Also this episode is from 2008; it's clearly from Season 36. I remember this episode well, actually... the first ever Independence Day themed episode, with a rare Check-Out exacta. Also noteworthy for being one of Roger's last shows... we had just found out the news of his departure the day before this aired...

"Nobody cares about the guest stars." - Roger Dobkowitz

"Change isn't always good. Sometimes changing things is a terrible mistake." - Bob Barker

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

My guess is, because it links to a video tied to one's personal account with the s attached, for some reason it doesn't work here. It's strange given elsewhere never has that issue, but only reason that makes sense.

I won't forget this episode. I never thought that in my lifetime I'd ever see Check-Out won the way it was won on this episode. Not only did Pauline become THE FIRST AND ONLY person in the history of Drew hosting the show to get an exacta, she also won a spot in the showcases at the end of the show, and if I recall correctly, she won here showcase! I loved how Drew and the audience reacted. I will also never forget how jaw dropping it was to witness a moment in pricing game history such as this one. The whole studio must've gone absolutely bonkers! It was exciting to see Check-Out won, but just think about what would've happened if a car, a truck, or even a van was at stake. What happened on this episode was (and still is) what I call 'simply mind-blowing and undeniably unbelievable!!!'.

I have dramatically updated our Youtube plugin and this should no longer be an issue, FWIW.

As Bob Barker would say... I thank you very much! :D
