I haven't gone through the whole thread on Facebook, but is there any way you can describe the spoiler without actually spoiling anything?  I guess my question is - what exactly is being spoiled?

Rachel appearing in the episode is a spoiler itself since the series has not used the same models every day in about 19 years.

Knowing who is modeling on a given episode beforehand isn't really a spoiler since it doesn't reveal any games played, results, or something major like a set change.

ITA.  Maybe things would be ruined if there was a prediction game guessing who's going to model on a particular show.  Other than that, it's not a big deal.  Personnel is typically an issue on Competitive reality (Survivor, TAR, American Idol etc).  On Price, the only thing that would suck is gameplay, results, what's being played, and so on & so forth.  While it's likely obvious that Rachel will be featured on the finale, a casual viewer that didn't read the contents of the link could speculate that she might not be on but be present.  Speaking of Rachel, and her future...

I can't see it being Rachel, why leave? She works what, 2-3 days a week twice a month and 3 months off during the summer? I am sure she gets plenty of family time, modeling at the price is right is a very good gig I can't see her leaving especially since she is model #1 and making good money as well I'm sure

Yeah, the only way she'd leave in 2021 is if she were ended up getting kicked out.  That's barring something else unfortunate that would result in an exit.  Of course if something awesome came her way that was better then that's a different story.  That, and I think we'd know about it prior to an exit.  When Chantel left in 1999, that was known, but I can't remember if I found out in a spoiler or in the media, but it was in May that the news dropped.

Any job that pays great, gives someone a ton of TV airtime, and has those hours is perfect, ITA.  Summers AND the winter holidays off annually is more than perfect!

Have we figured out which “long time staffer” is leaving?

according to Randy West, it's Stan Blitz that hung it up https://www.facebook.com/tvrandywest/posts/10226456638427176

That confirmation breaks my heart, but nonetheless what a great career for Mr. Blitz.  As mentioned, he was likely going to retire soon eventually, but I figured that he would've stuck around for the landmark 50th season.  Given the content of that post, it isn't surprising that Stan is calling it quits.

By the way, I do not mean that as fact; it's just my opinion.  I'd bet that he retired because it's time to do so before betting on him exiting over how they're proceeding with how they select their contestants.

As mentioned elsewhere, the contestant selection process or one similar to what was done in Season 49 is probably one of the things that is being upheld regardless of how normal things get going forward.  Apparently they've been doing that prior to the pandemic

As one of the 10,000 or so people who actually stood in a line in 2020 to attend a taping, you're going to have to elaborate more on what they were doing before COVID. I definitely didn't fill out an application asking for my interests.

That's a shame for Mr. Blitz; I know he had many years of history on the show, and he seemed like a great guy both times he interviewed me. I wish him good luck on whatever endeavors he goes to next.

also 8 years old instead of 18 years old? Are they expecting a fourth-grader to fill out that form, or what?
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

If I'm correct- they did have some contestants from around the country in contestant searches at locations- they used the Meadows Casino here as one location. From what I recall- they may have flown out 2 contestants for a show, 1 was chosen.

The form attached is roughly the same one they had last summer/fall for season 49. I still believe in my heart- and logically- they want some sort of audience, but being realistic- the way it was done before- the lines, the packed studio...is simply not going to happen.

My comment was based off of what other people said in terms of the process pre-covid (and in general); sorry if it came out as something I knew happened as it relates to the casting process.  I put the word apparently ahead of everything else in an attempt to indicate that I learned of what TPTB did or didn't do when I should've said, "According to what other people said elsewhere, they did what they did pre-Pandemic."

My apologies with that.  Given that you were apart of it just over a year ago, I guess it's comforting that they may have stuck to tradition before Covid.

BTW, speaking of casting, that image from that post looked like something you'd see for Survivor and The Amazing Race when it came to casting for their shows
