My thoughts on the July 7th episode: Once again, no $100,000 tries tonight. And remember out there, you can’t spell socialist without cialis. 😊

For “ticks”: Not fleas, but…

I think that Winner’s Circle round #1 was the worst one so far this season. I first thought of “your nose” for Things You Pick and “Tony’s Flakes” for Things That Are Frosted, but I think it would have been better for me to have added “the Tiger” to that clue like Michael Strahan did. I also came up with “Superman” for Things Made of Steel.

Greg and Sal were on fire in that second maingame! And it carried over into his Winner’s Circle round. Congratulations on his $50K win. He gave the classic, excellent clue for Things That Wobble: “a weeble”, and another fantastic clue for Things That Are Out: “A three strike batter”.

What a perfect way to start the second half-hour! Too bad there’s not a bonus in this iteration of Pyramid for someone in the case of a 21-21 tie.

How about “an audience’s hands” for Things That Clap? And great clues were given for Things You Regret ("a blind date", "getting too drunk", and "a one-night stand"); the contestant had a lot of time for that one fortunately.

Castingpyrmid.com anyone? :-)

I guess nobody wanted the $100,000 that dam badly.
She knew it was "Harry Potter", she just couldn't come up with it in time.
Why was "Clap" buzzed exactly?

Oops. :)  Castingpyramid.com

I agree with that. And "Clap" wasn't buzzed for an illegal clue (time ran out there), but Types of Bells was. The celebrity said "balls" and the contestant said "close". Buzz!!

And thanks for reminding me :) : The first clue I came up with for Things On a Farm? "Old MacDonald".

On the July 21 episode: We got a $100,000 try! It has been a while.

Pretty dramatic first maingame. A team got hung up on “Go” (How about “not stop, but…).  And how do we break a tie? Fisticuffs! 😊 Very funny Dulce.

And interesting how Dulce spent quite a bit of time on Body Parts, but got Native American Tribes (Indian) right away. And what a fantastic clue from Strahan for Things That Crash: “The 1929 Stock Market”. No pressure on him though! 😊

Congratulations to Liz on her $50K win. Good thinking adding “stored” to “your gym bag” for Things In A Locker and “barking” to “his mouth” for Parts of a Dog.

Things with a Core? I did think of “an apple” and “the earth” but not “your abs” or “the earth’s middle”. And how about “Alexander The Great’s World” for Things You Conquer? Kudos to Kathy Najimy for getting People Who Ride a Bicycle so quickly. I came up with “Lance Armstrong” for that one. And for Things That Are Padded I would have added (pause for rhythm) "an insane person's cell". :-)

Side Dishes! Arghh!!! Great clues there regardless. Brennan was an excellent player.

Native Americans: Navajo, Cherokee, Sioux
Crash: Cars, Planes, 1929 Stock Market, 2008 Stock Market, 2020 Stock Market
Cake: Angel Food, Devil's Food, Wedding
Math: Add, Subtract, Algebra, Multiply
Birds: Canary, Eagle, Hawk, Cardinal, Chickadee
Core: Apple, The Earth, Your Midsection
Salad Dressing: Ranch, Italian, French, Catalina, Thousand Island
Side Dishes: Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Rice, Stuffing, French Fries, Pasta Roni

Total cash won: $82,500 Season total: $811,500
I still don't understand the tiebreaker, its very confusing.
1 "Mystery 7" won.
For "Tomorrow", I would have said, "Next day" or Soap Opera "Search For ______"
"Things That Crash" was the subject involved in Vicki Lawrence's rant in 1982.

"Things That Crash": A(n unresponsive) computer. Very surprised that one didn't get used.

On the July 28th episode: Two male contestants to start. Two female contestants to end. Both Mystery 7 trips won. A $100,000 try.  Unusual. 😊

Very nice $50K win for Matty. And a fantastic clue for Things You Swing to go along with “a baseball bat”: “your square dance partner”. I thought of “a pendulum”.

Another nice $50K win for Chris. With his speed in the Winner’s Circle, I could hardly think of clues during the round. Gotta give props to Rachel Dratch.

“A kid can be a spoiled…”  brat.

I would have said “an OPEN door” right away for Things You Close, along with “a business deal” if needed. Types of Clubs was a bit of a challenge for me; “a private country one” was a great clue there. And I think more variety was needed in the contestant’s list of Famous People (Celebrities); maybe “Michael Strahan”, “George Clooney”, “Brad Pitt”, “Paris Hilton”?

Coming to my mind immediately for Things That Are Romantic were "a candlelight dinner" and "a Beethoven symphony". And I know, not the best clues, but how about adding “radio ones” and “micro ones” for Types of Waves, and “your position” for Things You Defend? Strahan’s "tidal ones" and “your girlfriend’s honor” were excellent.

On the August 11th episode: A $50K win and a $100K try! Not too bad. But what was the subject of the Mystery 7 in the second half-hour? I guess we’ll never know.

I was also thinking football when Things You Block came up. Any excellent clues out there?  “An overfilled basketball” came to mind for Things You Deflate.

Congrats to Rich on his Mystery 7 win. I thought of “All your secrets” and “ruined film” for Things That Are Exposed. And how about “quartet members” for Things There Are Four Of?

I’ve seen more difficult pyramids, but congratulations to Andy on his $50K win. He should have had $150K total though! He gave some fantastic clues for Things You Make A Wish On ("a falling star", "a fountain coin", "a genie's lamp") and they had so much time (over 30 seconds)!! Maybe if he went the "birthday candle" route earlier; I did. I also wonder if "Pinocchio's star" would have done it.

Good ones! Caution on phrasing though ("A Facebook stalker" to eliminate the preposition?) :-)

Things there are four of: Marx Brothers, Beatles, seasons, square sides, rectangle sides
Things you block: Football players, pop-up ads, hockey shots, tic tac toe players, a Whew! charger
Things that are exposed: A Playboy Bunny's body, film pictures, an unsecure account
Things you deflate: An overheated economy, an overstuffed balloon, an ego
Things you make a wish on: A Disney star, a genie's lamp, a New Year's resolution, a birthday cake and candles, the Trevi fountain

That Mystery 7 in game two that got Tess missed with just five out of seven involved alphanumeric combinations, although it was April 15 that got to her for not knowing tax filing day. At least she did better than the Turtle Wax/Rice A Roni that her mom got back in 1976.
