Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

1233: {points to Nate Powalie} First response? You seem eager to play today, why don't you tilt this board for all of us?

{tilts the board towards himself}

Let's see if the that's the right direction. Mr. Announcer, working double duty, flip that tag over!!!

...

{flips tag}

{ding, ding, ding, ding}

Congrats to Nate Powalie and all the other players whose chose coming!!

For those of you that lost here, no worries. Just get a quick refresher of some of the show's more recent hidden rules and come back next time.  ;-)

{walks group over to GPT}

You've gotten past the first game, and that's an accomplishment in itself. But now you have a taste for winning, let's keep it rolling. What great prizes are on the line now, Mr. Announcer?

Announcer: This summer is bound to be a much needed return to normalcy, and one of the biggest events is the upcoming Olympics. So in honor of the summer games, we're gonna offer you...

{door 3 opens}

...an Olympic field event set and a weekend getaway to this year's host country, Japan!!

First, we have this Olympic grade quality field set that consists of an 800 gram 2.6m long men's javelin, a 600 gram 2.3m long women's javelin and a 1.6kg discus.

Then, you and a guest will fly roundtrip from Los Angeles to Tokyo, Japan for a 4 night stay at the Park Hotel Japan. You will stay in a deluxe double room with breakfast included, and also will receive two general admission tickets to the opening ceremony of the Olympics!!

{cheers from the group}

Now I present to you all Blackout, an original game I played way back in one of my earlier shows, albeit under different rules.

I went back, looked that show over and realized not a single person who was a part of that show is part of today's group, the times really have changed around here.

Now the game is very simple, the price of the field set is somewhere on this board, as well as the price of the trip to Japan.

I want you all to use these 3 explosive blackout boards at the bottom of the board to blackout 3 prices you believe do not belong to either prize.

If you successfully leave the 2 correct prices uncovered, you'll be on your way to see the start of the Olympics!!

{hooting and hollering ensues}

Now I need everyone left on the list to give me 3 prices they would like to blackout. Remember, you want to blackout prices that don't go with either prize. Best of luck everyone.

{the remaining rabble thinks it over}

For the field set, I'll black-out $1,299 (though I'm not 100% sure on it), $2,097 and $3,884. For the trip to Tokyo, I'll black out the $9,368, the $8,176, and *crosses fingers* the $5,460 (again, the trip black-out numbers are just blind guesses).

The price of both prizes can be anywhere on the board, I just need you to cover up 3 prices in total that don't belong to either. Have another go at it

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'll black-out the $9368, $8176, and $2097.

The more I look at those prices, the more unsure I am. $3,884 I think is a lock, as the field set isn't that much and Tokyo isn't that cheap. Tokyo being only 4 nights should blackout $9,368 as well. The copy suggests the three items in the field set are sold together, eliminating a possibility like $2,097, a price which implies $x99 for each item.

My guesses therefore are $2,097, $3,884, $9,368.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. That hidden rule has been broken a couple of times this season so I thought you were trying to trick us :-x. That's what I get for overthinking :lol:. Good luck to everyone who's left!

Um, sure, I'm sheeping this logic, please don't steer me wrong 04.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

Let’s get rid of $9,368, since Tokyo’s not that expensive, and let’s get rid of $795, since the javelin set isn’t that cheap, and let’s get rid of $3,884, because... it doesn’t feel right.

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."
