To say Tiphanie and Cesar should still be here is an accurate statement. Time after time, both have lowballed and Tiphanie has lowballed the lowball in a number with very little room for error. Now at least one is heading for Whaleyville, Maryland. Probably should be both.

Pay The Rent: The hot cocoa is… upside down! (in the house). ;)  And I didn’t expect the detergent to be so expensive.

I thought $22K was too much for the car in Balance Game. I was right.

Nice win in Cliff Hangers! :-)

Wow. I really thought the contestant was in good shape in Magic Number. And she made her decision so quickly, without lowering the number at all. How long has it been since someone picked a number higher than the price of the more expensive prize?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Barker was still hosting the last time that happened.

Pay the Rent this episode had 2 solutions:
Avocados (4.99) < Dog Food + Hot Cocoa (10.18) < Peanut Butter + Pain Relief (10.47) < Detergent (10.99)
Pain Relief (6.98) < Peanut Butter + Avocados (8.48) < Dog Food + Hot Cocoa (10.18) < Detergent (10.99)
I think this is the first time in the Drew Carey era that a contestant set the Magic # too high.
Watching since the late 2000s, playing along since 2021.

Wow, that tells you a lot. We had a problem where contestants went too LOW, so today is certainly a rarity.

Ended up being an awful time to have a really cheap trip.
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Pay the Rent: Been somewhat of a while since the Last $10K Bail
Double Prices: Figured Budget Mode and I was right
Balance Game: Figured that would be too heavy
Cliff Hangers: Nice win
Cover Up: Not sure of what to say about this game
Magic #: A rare occurrence that last Happened when I was 1 year old (there's my age for ya) and Barker still had the Mic

That's 4/24/97, 4/25/03, and now this show. I feel like a few more could be uncovered from the Barker era, but maybe these are the only times the contestant set the number too high.

Tough choice between the K-cup pods and detergent pods as the most expensive item in Rent. Just a bad playing all around, but the way the game set up she still won $10,000.

Wow, never thought we'd see a Magic # loss again where the contestant set their number above the price of the higher priced prize. Eighteen years since it last happened.

Well, hell froze -- somebody went over in Magic #.  That wasn't even a bad guess -- I actually thought Tiphanie was the most sensible person to play the game in ages.  She just got stuck with a relatively cheap trip.

Aside from that...man, nobody was going to win Pay the Rent today.  The attic wasn't even obvious (heck, I got it wrong), and nothing farther down was any easier to figure out.

Double Prices really ought to be moved to Door #3 permanently.  I don't know why, but for some reason, it just feels more interesting over there.  Maybe it's the fact that they don't use that camera angle for anything else.

This is going to sound really stupid, but does anybody know if Cesar was a repeat contestant?  About 12 years ago, Carlos and I helped a friend of mine from high school get a person she knew with that name a tape of a show he was on from somewhere around Season 29, but I have no idea if it's the same person.

Magic was a, uh, shocker! Even more so when I actually checked TpirStats and saw the last occurrence was 2003 as others have said.

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!
