9-speed automatic transmission! 😊   Too bad the Jeep wasn’t won in That’s Too Much.

Lucky second-chance win in Bullseye.

I also picked 13 in ˝ Off.

10 Chances! One of my favorite games! Arghh! The contestant was playing SO well, with her first 5 guesses ending in zero. Then she went way off track, and then back to ending in zero for the win of the second prize. Why??

That's too Much: Figured the Contestant would be under when they stopped
Bargain Game: Distance Rule really helped ngl
Bullseye: Got Real Lucky on the Hidden Bullseye
Pick a Number: At least we can somewhat price that damn Bathroom now
1/2 Off: Just was unlucky with the Boxes
10 Chances: I can not even begin to think on how many Chances were wasted solely on the contestant not figuring out 730 quick enough

...really? We already knew it was around $8-9k, and if you actually did the work, you could have done the math and figured it out the last time it showed up. Take a showcase worth $31,324, take away a $17,955 Kia Rio S Hatchback, and subtract a $5,046 kitchen. What number do you get?

1/2 Off was easy with the first two SP pairs, but once I heard "soup maker", I knew it was the $150 one that's popped up a few times this season.

I don't know why it was staged that way, but Drew being out of frame when Jacquenette was on her ninth chance made me chuckle. Part of me felt "yeah, she's doomed" vibes from his absence.
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

Looks like the contestant forgot about the 0 rule in Ten Chances... that's not the first time that's happened this season, though.

That is literally 98% of playings of the game. The amount of playings at least in the Drew era of someone ending all their guesses in zero can probably be counted on one hand.

Really, it's not a matter of forgetting the zero rule.  It's a case of a contestant not knowing the zero rule.

The game today wasn't super easy, but nowhere near super difficult.  We'll never know if the car is won had it gotten to that point, but knowing the trick would have given her a fair amount of chances at it.  Not many decent laptops cost so little, especially when you factor in the features.  So a $397 guess was tough to see.

Fortunately Bullseye was won at the "last minute" though I think it should've been won right away.  Probably the easiest pricing game on the show; the guy was close nonetheless without the need to go for the hidden Bullseye.

As for the Ten Chances Zero Rule, people have been unaware of it for over 4 decades,  Percentage-wise maybe it's not as high prior to the Drew era, but it happens.  I can't blame the contestants for the most part, especially when several contestants have been doomed everywhere else (other pricing games that lack a zero rule) just for assuming the price of a car doesn't end in a zero.

Man, 7 shows left.  Time flies, always has, always will.  Just simply amazing how the staff and company were able to put things together and produce/run Season 49.  What a season!

I wouldn't be surprised if she did know the rule, but didn't realize that she hadn't chosen 730 yet.

The fact that her second guess wasn't 85 (closer to her original guess of 80, than to 50) would probably tell you she *kindof* knows the rule. It looked like she started to write 790 again, then realized she already used that so she just put the 3 then commented something like "I need to focus". I'm sure if there were a "real" audience they would've been yelling for 730 by chance 4.

I think too much is being read into her gameplay. Most people don't know the zero rule, but people do generally skew towards prices with rounder endings like -5 or -0. It's why you might end up seeing -5 or -0 be a fake for the last digit in Pathfinder, Pocket Change or Pick-A-Number to name a few to trip up a contestant. So, sometimes, it simply works out that the contestant makes logical guesses that may make it seem like they know the zero rule but, in reality, they're just placing their best guess. Which is why you'll end up seeing them stray from it usually.

I think this was simply a case of her (and apparently everyone else on stage) forgetting that $730 hadn't been used as a guess yet. It's certainly frustrating when that happens. I know I'm definitely thinking "Why wouldn't you keep guessing in the 700s until you know that's not right!?" But we've seen time and time again people get lost in their guesses before making a new one.

Which is why the throwaway digit in the first two prizes is almost always 5 or 9.

Yes. Which is why I said that we've seen numerous people get lost up there while playing. When I said that, I meant the fact that they don't look back. It's really frustrating to see happen, but it happens.
