Stan Blits retired?
« on: June 23, 2021, 06:22:54 PM »
I just heard from a reasonably knowledgable source that Stan Blitz has retired.

I’m 😢.

Edited to fix typo so this will stop.

Fine print: Must be at least 8 years old.  Either this company is sloppy AF or they have loose standards for kids' specials.
New TPiR Announcer: Gilbert Gottfried.  See?  Things *can* be worse.

Or humans make errors that don’t necessarily mean they’re deserving of derogatory swipes. Just another possibility.

"Nobody cares about the guest stars." - Roger Dobkowitz

"Change isn't always good. Sometimes changing things is a terrible mistake." - Bob Barker

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Does this leave Adam Sandler and Gina Edwards-Nyman as the two remaining crew members from when Bob was host?
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Not sure if my source got it from there, but the article was not my source.  Now my curiosity is which came first?   Back in 2004, I noticed certain contestant personalities were different than previously chosen, posted here and it was confirmed.

There are many a “gold star” members here that most likely would not have been chosen were it not for Stan.

Fake COD, fake contestants.  So much for even needing an audience.  Why bother to see it live now.

And START DISHING!

TV productions evolve with the times if they are to survive. That’s reality, not fake.

Glad someone gets it.

When you are part of a production team working to “produce” said show and you are meeting daily with the contestants…yeah, fake.

If anyone here is in contact with Stan, please wish him all the best for me and thank him for many years of amazing service to the show! He'll be missed but he's certainly earned his retirement.

Just so we're clear here, you're upset they are going from a singular person picking contestants who were best for the show to... a group of people picking contestants who are best for the show?

I’m upset that the manner in which contestants are being “pre-selected” to a different degree than before, and I despise the word “casting” is being used.  Believe me I’m not the only one who’s upset.

Do we know the full details yet on how contestants will be selected? We know that they have used the casting on location contestant calls and its worked well. This season...was done out of necessity.
