With that setup in Money Game, I was very, very confident that the last two digits were 17. I would have chosen that first. :-D

Close indeed, but over in Grocery Game. I would have tried to inch up to between 20 and 22 dollars.

Wow! $25,000 in Punch-A-Bunch! What a great end to the sequence: $500, $100, $25,000.

Too bad about the double overbid at the end of the show.

Okay, that Punch win was superb. Any $25,000 win yes, but this one was hiding waaay off to the side in hole 30. Not often is a side edge hole punched, excellently played.

Live for the present.  Embrace the future.  Our favorite game show is still producing excellent, high quality, exciting, hour-long* shows every weekday throughout its traditional season window.  It’s as good as it’s been in a long, long time.  If the 1980s were the ‘good ole days’ for the Barker era, so is RIGHT NOW for the Carey era.  Don’t worry about what the future holds.  It will play out in due time.  Enjoy what we have right in front of us in the meantime!

I never thought I would see the day when Punch-a-Bunch of all games would save a show from any skunk, let alone an El Skunko. That game had a 52-playing losing streak stretching back to season 46 going into this playing. Now Temptation has the longest current losing streak of any game aside from Plinko, at 41 consecutive losses (stretching back to season 44).
Watching since the late 2000s, playing along since 2021.

Stop the presses! Punch-A-Bunch was won! Fun fact: the hole the $25,000 was in hadn't been punched since June 3, 2010, which is probably not a coincidence. Otherwise, I agree the 17 in Money Game was so out of place it almost had to be correct (and was.)

Why do I have a feeling this has something to do with why this episode, and not the one that was actually pre-empted, was the one that was moved to June?

This episode was moved to June rather than the one that was actually preempted because of George's 10th anniversary. The episode closest to the anniversary of when he was formally added to the cast was the April 19 episode, so they aired it on April 20, rather than have it air 2 months later.

Bad luck today in Money Game with the contestant falling victim to El Cheapo/La Cheapa. And when's the last time someone punched out the 25k slip in Punch-A-Bunch?

^Halloween, 2017.

This was in the height of budget mode, so of course we have the lowest showcase ARP this season and both cars being kind of difficult (La Cheapa, $XXX0X). I didn't think any of the other four games were necessarily set up to be lost though; they weren't total give-mes, but I've seen worse setups for each.

And that's awesome that Punch of all games was the game that stopped a winless show
"If any show, forget sports, Price is Right, [the audience is] the star of the show. Somebody... coming on down and losing their minds, and ... crying, that's the show. The show isn't me, the show isn't necessarily [a] can of soup, how much that is, it's watching people go bananas, and there's going to be some of that missing."

-Drew Carey, interview with Athletic, September 16, 2020

"I honestly thought the doubler was gone, but 9821 going $0 makes sense"

Does anybody else find it interesting that just yesterday the Q&A thread was discussing who watches the hole order in punch a bunch, and today Drew mentions that Amber is the "official watcher". Just me?
