Much of California's economy is built on the film and TV industry. Not saying all of it, of course, but a good chunk of it.

Hold up here. I wouldn't say it's a "good chunk of it."

I think it's more vital to the economy of The City of Los Angeles than the whole state of California.

Tech and finance are more vital to the state than the Film/TV industry is.

In no way am I trying to discount the value of the Film/TV industry - they very much should have proper working conditions and I fully support them in their endeavors to get better working conditions and living wages.
