Vin Scully also hosted It Takes Two on NBC (1969-70). Here he is doing a show, from Wink Martindale's vault.

And he was famous as an NBC baseball PBP man alongside the late great Joe Garagiola on color. Here's some of the pair's best work, wherein Mookie Wilson drives the comeback of the Mets in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series (Scully knew how important that was, so he let the cheering and pictures really carry the emotion across of how big of a moment it was):

The mother of all walkoffs.

So indeed (and a close second being Kirk Gibson hitting that 2-run deal for the Dodgers in Game 1 of the 1988 Series, also on NBC):

A ton of legends gone (in such a short period of time).

M.A.S.H is a legendary show; while not everyone puts it as their Top show of all time, it's Top 5-10, to be part of that for the entire run like Burt Metcalfe was is or was worth it.

Not many people place Bill Russell as the GOAT.  That may be more fair than not, but the guy is top notch in terms of the most accomplished.  Started & ended things in college and the pros as a winner.

It's not common to turn on the radio or the TV for an announcer (other than Pat & John).  Though I have turned it off due to someone calling a game.  Vin Scully was one in a handful of people that was worth listening to.  Really it was more about the game and not the person calling it.

Coincidentally, Vin's broadcast partner when he broadcast NBC's MLB Game of the Week from 1983-88, Joe Garagiola, also had quite a good game show resume (Vin would be partnered with Tom Seaver in his last season, 1989).

Vin and Joe, who had such awesome chemistry together, are together again. Godspeed.

That's right; Joe did He Said She Said, Joe Garagiola's Memory Game, Sale of the Century (original), To Tell the Truth and Strike it Rich (1986).
