Anne Heche's life support is about to be turned off. Meaning what I think it means. Rest in peace. She struggled with so much in her life.

Tim Lincecum's wife has died.


Sad news re: Anne Heche.  As mentioned, she had a rough life, from day one.  She deserved better.  RIP.

Paul Coker Jr., artist for Mad magazine and designer for many Rankin-Bass cartoons (Tom of T.H.U.M.B., Frosty the Snowman, The Year Without a Santa Claus), age 93. He passed away on July 23.

Jazz keyboardist Joey DeFrancesco passed away today of undisclosed causes at age 51. He played in the legendary Miles Davis' band for several years and went on to become one of the most accomplished and respected Hammond B3 players of all time.

And so thus goes the last known survivor of the high-level Beirut conference memorably broken up by Frank Drebin ("I have the Americans believing I am a nice guy.  In some of their polls, I am more popular than their president.").  In all real-world seriousness, though, give much credit to Gorbachev for being willing to try and reform a clearly dead political system, in more ways than one, when few would have dared to try, and although the change went beyond what he intended, it still gave freedom to millions of people who dreamed of it, and for that we should thank him.
