A little early for the season to be wrapping taping, isn't it? Could this be because of the cross-country tour going on?

Not really -- they've been finishing up in early April for several years now.

That makes sense actually. They can get through the season a little faster now that they tape 3 shows a day.

On his weekly Friday Night FreakOut show on Sirius XM, Drew confirmed that taping is done for the season.
Related, Drew's weekly show is fantastic, and is my weekend morning jam.

Later in the show, Drew mentions that they taped a special show which will air on September 5 to mark 50 years. He doesn't give specifics but notes he was blown away by many of the games, prizes and surprises on this special show. Looking forward to more details of this!

I'm quite glad they don't tape six shows on just one day per week.  It may be cost-efficient, but at the same time it's quite harsh.

Six shows in one day would not be possible for a show with as large a scale as Price. This is not Jeopardy! or Wheel.

You can't re-use audiences because you need to choose contestants from them. The set pieces and prizes are big and need to be staged. The show is an hour long.
