The $100,000 Pyramid with Michael Strahan – Season Six
« on: July 10, 2022, 11:01:01 PM »
“From Hollywood, this is the One Hundred Thousand Dollar Pyramid!”  (Yay!)

Great to see the classic and one of my favorite game shows back with new episodes. It feels like we are right back where we left off. Two $50K wins! A $100K try! And both Mystery 7 trips were won!

“Suit and…” for tie?? And clever way to get “Dr. Ruth”.

I’m glad Morgan got a shot at $50K (which she won). I’m also glad she thought of mentioning high schoolers for Things At A Prom.

Things That Are Kicked? How about “the bucket”? I immediately thought of that.  “A bike’s inner tube” for Things You Pump?

“The early bird’s beak”!!! Wow! FANTASTIC clue from Strahan for Places You See Worms. I came up with “a fisherman’s hook”. Other great ones from the host were "your coach's emotional speech" for Things That Inspire You and "inserted coin" (better than my "the coin slot"?) for Things In A Vending Machine.

The Winner's Circles in the first half both seemed pretty easy, though the great clues on the final category definitely helped. For things that are kicked I would've said soccer ball and a field goal. A bad habit might've worked also.

I also thought of a fishing hook also for Places You See Worms, along with a bait shop.

Makeup: Foundation, Lipstick, Mascara
Greek: Yogurt, Athens, Nia Vardalos's Big Fat Wedding
Africa: Kenya, Egypt, Morocco, Somalia
Carpet: Shag, Plush, Magic, Red
Casino: Gamblers, Slot Machines, Poker tables, Cards
Worms: Bait & tackle shop, soil, Fisherman's boat
Tornado: "I'm the thing that took Dorothy to Oz.". "I'm also known as a waterspout."
Vending Machine: Potato Chips, Candy, Gum, Cold Drinks

Total Cash won: $116,000. Good start, hopefully $100,000 will be won next time.
Both Mystery 7s won.
Lindsey's brain decided to malfunction at the end.
Apparently he never heard of Dr. Ruth.

Why was there a $75,000 amount displayed in one of the promos for this season?

I wondered about that as well. No mention of a $75,000 win possibility tonight.

Greek: Nia Vardalos's Big Fat Wedding
Would that be buzzed for describing Greek?

I would say no; definitely no synonyms there for Greek. And since that wedding was described as big, fat, and Greek. I think "Nia Vardalos's wedding" would be a good clue for Things That Are Big, or Fat, or Greek.

GSN is now running replays of this edition weekdays at 1 PM Eastern. They're starting with the debut show.

Actually, it's at 4 PM. And it's in the original hour format. The Canadian equivalent of GSN/Buzzr, GameTV, airs Season 4 episodes on Saturdays, but edited into separate half hours (even though they air back to back). They also air the Dick Clark version every day.

On the July 17th episode: The first $100K of the season!  A Mystery 7 win! Pretty good I’d say.

Ty Dolla $ign kept so calm playing the game. I liked that. And I still not a fan of the “suggestive” subject titles in the maingame.

Isn’t the clue “A state that starts with ‘A’” illegal??  I would have cuckooed that.

The second half-hour players were excellent in the maingame. “The farmer in the…”. SO good for Delaware. "Yes!" I said out loud. :)

Great clues from the contestant for Kinds of Poles (“the North one”, “ski ones”, “stripper ones”). Cities in Pennsylvania sounds easy. Besides Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, I could only think of Hershey, which might have been confusing. Now I’m thinking of Erie.

For Things That Are Puffed (Puffy was acceptable), I came up with “the Seinfeld shirt” and “marshmallows”. And how about “Your own two feet” for Things You Stand On? “Very small print” along with “sunlight” for Things That Make You Squint?

I think the contestant got flustered during the second and last $100K try. I also thought of "drum" for Kinds of Sticks, but the contestant's "chop ones" and "celery ones" made Bobby Moynihan think of salads. Strahan's "pogo" was superb. My immediate clue for Things That Flop was "a bad Broadway show".

Do I have this right? So far, there have been nine $150,000 payoffs.

I’m not sure personally, but none so far this season.
