Apologies if this is errant bumping, but the Wheel of Fortune channel has added (and is currently playing) episodes from 2004. Not sure how many, and they aren't currently available in the On Demand section.

I just started watching this channel recently. They've been bouncing around to 2002, 2004, early 2010s, and back around to the late 2010s. I take it this range of episodes is new.

Its interesting. I'm a casual Wheel fan--have been for years--but going back to the early 2000s shows how drastically the show has changed. Namely how difficult, verbose, and adjective-laden puzzles are today. And how basically the prize puzzle winner is almost guaranteed to go to the bonus round so overpowered is it. One of the bonus puzzles I watched this afternoon had was a "thing" and the answer was "A Bridge." I couldn't believe how simple it was.

Not that I don't enjoy the show today. Just interesting to see how much harder its gotten.

Nowadays, that puzzle would be something like "A BRIDGE OVER A WAVY CREEK".  :oldlol: :oldlol:

They do tend to have sponsors for the trips though, I wonder how much is split for the cost of the trip with the sponsor

It may be bumping for the thread, but I wanted to share that the On Demand Wheel of Fortune section of Pluto TV has introduced episodes from the first decade of the nighttime run, with the earliest of the currently available episodes are from Season 3. And so far, they are not yet available on the live channel.

Also, Pluto has added Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer, and Emma Boettcher's runs to the Jeopardy channel.

This is certainly the right way to appreciate Pat Sajak's career ahead of his final season, with a nice dump of 1980s episodes! So far, we've got eight from Season 1, seven from Season 2, ten from Season 3, 15 from Season 4, and eight from Season 5, all from the pre-cash first month of the season, including the entire Battle of the Sexes week.

Another big surprise is this: Pat's first ever episode as host from the DAYTIME run has been posted, hidden under "Season 10" as "episode #1768", which really really refers to as the 1,768th episode of the daytime run from December 28, 1981. It also marks Susan Stafford's first (and perhaps her only ever appearance) on Pluto. The quality looks decent on that daytime episode, but not quite as sharp as comparable TPIR episodes from this period.

We also get our first episodes from the '90s as well: four episodes from Season 10, and one from Season 12. But with many of those coming from seasons GSN refused to air, this is a must watch, especially with more new-to-Pluto Barker era episodes on the way.
Now open for tape trading! Please PM me for an offer with a list included.

So I wonder if, among Season 3 episodes, the famous "THE THRILL OF VICTORY ... " episode is among the uploaded, or soon will be? There supposedly also was another huge loss a few weeks earlier in Season 3, where someone mis-solved "STAR LIGHT, STAR BRIGHT, FIRST STAR I SEE TONIGHT" (they left out a word), and someone else swooped in to get a far smaller amount. If that indeed happened, is that among the uploaded?

I'm thumbing through the episode right now and while it is watchable it is definitely not from a broadcast quality source. Picture is very noisy. Given the spotty archival standing for the early days of the show however, I'm glad that it is still available to watch. It is nice to see Sony finally dipping more into the archive for the show.

plus it might be the only episode with Susan Stafford they'll put on there

i'm of course, do hope i'm wrong about that (even if it's Pat & Susan, not Chuck & Susan)
