Well, AFAIK, the show did have a deal with the NBC O&O's to carry Dennis James' TPIR (and from what I've heard, that deal is what caused Bud Grant to reject James as host of the daytime TPIR; he didn't want an "NBC personality" hosting a CBS show), so I'm failing to catch the mistake.

No, it said that Goodson-Todman produces another version of The Price Is Right for NBC's O&Os.  Without further context, I think the most reasonable assumption is that they're talking about the nighttime show.

A rather odd statement for Goodson to make, considering that Dennis had very much been chosen to host the nighttime series by mid-February 1972 -- a point in which there was no network series planned and, by extension, no involvement by Bob Barker.
