As is tradition, Army-Navy next Saturday (12.10.22) on CBS which has been the week after the SEC Title Game, and also precedes the mentioned Heisman show.  As is the custom, the CBS studio show typically features the New York attendees/finalists (and the NFL Today would have the eventual winner in the same studio the following day).  Though I think the College Football Today team was on site last year if not recently.

Here is a list of all of the Bowl Games for the 2022-2023 Season.  The National Championship Game, on January 9th, will be the second-to-last time it's that early.  Or in that spot which had been the spot since the 2010 season.  In a couple seasons, it'll be pushed back to occur the day after the NFL Divisional Round (at least most years)

Odds for the CFPs are out. Georgia is giving 6-1/2 to the Buckeyes and is given a 58% chance to win while Michigan is giving 9-1/2 to TCU and has a 67% chance to win. It's still just under four weeks out so those are bound to fluctuate.

The number 1 whisky in Tennessee is Jack Daniels. The number 1 w(h)ine is "Why didn't Hendon Hooker make the Heisman finalists?"😜

An analyst at CBS says LSU will upset Georgia. And it's possible it can happen. The line is a skinny 6 and a hook, and Georgia has had several games where they stumble early before putting the pedal to the metal. If Georgia doesn't strike early and often, then yes, LSU takes advantage and pulls off the upset.

My error. It's Ohio State, not LSU. Humblest apologies.

Non-shocker: Caleb Williams is your 2022 Heisman winner.  Though, prior to this evening & TBH, it wasn't as obvious as past winners.  Sure NBC tweeted (and deleted) their tweet early for some reason, but if you watched the entire show, the structure gave it away throughout the hour anyway.

Earlier in the day, Army beat Navy in the first ever game to go to overtime

Even coming into the day Williams actually like a pretty heavy favorite to me. It would have very surprising if he hadn't gotten it. It may not have been the "slam dunk" that Burrow was in 2019, but the announcement honestly did feel a bit anticlimactic (as it does most years tbh)

FWIW, the Heisman Trophy winner who sticks out in my memory most is Desmond Howard in 1991. "Goodbye! Hello Heisman!" while Howard struck the Heisman pose.
Adjustments that should be made to pricing games to make them fairer: Secret X: Add a 3rd SP so that perfect pricing ensures a win. 1/2 Off: Add a 4th set of SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Master Key: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win. Rat Race: Add 2 more SPs so that perfect pricing ensures a win.

The following pricing games should be retired because there's no way or no easy way to make them fair: Spelling Bee, Plinko, Punch a Bunch, Pass the Buck, Let em Roll, 3 Strikes.

The following retired pricing games should be revived: $uper $aver, Give or Keep, Buy or Sell, Hurdles, Bump, Penny Ante, Credit Card, On the Spot, Split Decision, Add em Up, Walk of Fame, Barker's Markers, Magic Number.

Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach has passed away from a heart condition. His bulldogs are to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl January 2 against Illinois.

Right before I changed to WofF Friday the 16th I saw N. Dakota State win to advance to the NCAA championship on 1/8.  Tomorrow night will have the other semi finals and the winner will play them.

That was the 1-AA Subdivision. North Dakota State and/or South Dakota State (plays Montana State in the other semifinal) always win it.

Deion Sanders' finale as Jackson State head coach ends as a downer as N.C. Central wins the Celebration Bowl 41-34 and the HBCU national championship. Deion now makes his way to coach Colorado.

I'd love to see Georgia repeat, which would clinch an undefeated season.  I do like something new/different like Michigan winning.  Georgia has been better this year, but sometimes not as dominant.  Michigan has been much, much better.  However, their loss of their RB is not cool.  Can Michigan keep Georgia off the board enough for a chance to get lucky to score?  If so, it might be what it takes to win.  That's assuming we don't actually get The Game: Reprise!

Tonight's when we see who dances for the national crown in Inglewood January 9. Expect C.J. Stroud (Ohio State) to pass a lot against Georgia's 49th ranked pass defense, and Stetson Bennett (Georgia) will take to the air with no fear as well. The over should be a safe bet in the Peach Bowl.

In the Fiesta Bowl, Michigan's Jim Harbaugh has nothing but respect for TCU QB Max Duggan, who is declaring for the draft. Michigan will open up their run game, while the two teams are evenly matched in passing. Should be a fun game.

After being down 10-0 to Kansas State early in the Sugar Bowl, Alabama opened a can of spinach and went on to blow out Kansas State 45-20. Bryce Young, named the game's most outstanding player, threw for 321 and 5 TDs. They readily accept the trophy, even if was merely Miss Congeniality compared to what they were really after.
