It appears that Plinko has gotten the Showcase Showdown treatment. Any time someone drops a chip in the $10,000 slot, “Dig We Must” is played and a “$10,000” lower-third graphic in Plinko’s colors appears on the screen.
Meh. I think it's unnecessary, but just "
slightly unnecessary". However, I don't have a problem with it. Center hits are a common thing whenever they play Plinko. I'm not saying $10,000+ outcomes are rare but it's around 40-60% off the top of my head. What is rare is when it's hit more than once within the episode. Overall, I had to laugh, and it's not a big deal.
Drew pretty much pimps each show as being great to start the episode, and that’s totally fine. However, it might’ve slightly exceeded expectations. From the play in Clock Game to a $10,000 Plinko hit (complete with fanfare as mentioned) & I believe our second consecutive Money Game win to go 2/2 to more money won at the big wheel. And that was just within the first half!
It would’ve taken a lot to wreck the show. By the way, I think Karen’s exacta is the season’s first perfect ONE BID. They’re still not giving the cash up front, which was confirmed by Carey (show end, which is no big deal if that’s the normal going forward / for the rest of time). $13,000 cash for Karen makes for a nice hour even though she didn’t win the SUV showcase.
I was worried for Carla; similar to the previous Money Game winner, it sucked to burn two picks for the first 2 numbers, but she too also avoided 51, and 95. I would’ve been great had she said, “What kind of car is it?” prior to going for 36 to complete the “Dice Game” price of $24,236. She took her time, pondered, and won.
Angela, on the other hand, did not hesitate at all. That and fast talking helped in a situation that has been fatal more often than not starting as high as $1500 and then skipping the area featuring the correct price.
Showcase winner Daniel took his OWP win like he’s been there before. Meanwhile, I was saddened at first for yet another unkind Hole in One grocery setup but soon after I was optimistic that Tonya would backdoor toward the win with the chance that she would hit the ball too hard but hard enough for it to bounce back.
Too bad all three of the first 3 contestants couldn’t win in the SCSD, but they all did well prior to that round. Another $1,000 winner, while in the second SCSD, yet another spinoff, and double overtime!
Didn’t really care for the showcases this time around. IMO, those didn't need to be that spectacular. 4 out of six outright wins and a nice Plinko showing with only 3 chips! A great show overall!
