Checking the thread from 2008, the source on that was apparently Willy. I believe him.

I knew that I read that from somewhere, but I couldn’t remember where.

Per this Twitter account, PlutoTV is adding a second 24-hour Price is Right channel featuring Drew-era episodes starting June 1st.

Let the speculation about which episodes these will be begin. (My guess is, don't expect to see a great deal pre-S39.)

Any knowledge of when this will launch? Didn’t see the channel there this morning.

Ignore my comment above. The channel has appeared.

As of noon EDT they’re on 4841K (OAD: 9/29/09)

So that answers that. Were in S38 and we’re getting episodes with Rich to start.

Surprised to hear Rich.

Guaranteed we will never see any season 36 episodes simply because they’re SD.

Why would that stop them? They have a whole other channel of 1980s episodes all in SD

True, but the entirety of the Barker era is SD, whereas all but the first season of the Carey era are HD.

Also, that season 36 set was awful.

Season 36 as a whole has aged terribly, so probably best they don't air it...
"Nobody cares about the guest stars." - Roger Dobkowitz

"Change isn't always good. Sometimes changing things is a terrible mistake." - Bob Barker

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

And probably wouldn’t be much fun to watch. Besides Drew’s growing pains, you also run into the fact that a good half of the season was spent with limited and repeating lineups as Drew learned the games. Definitely wouldn’t make for great watching in a binge as Pluto is apt to inspire.

How about 37? "The Price Is Right but the Show Is Off-Brand"?! Horribly written showcases, gunky sounding music, that damn purple wheel, about 100 too many models, and the ever popular dinner combo of fried chicken and pie.

We'll think of a signature. Don't worry.

I wasn't following TPiR at that time so I've got a bit of morbid curiosity about the infamous S36/37. I have seen clips of Joseph.

I agree that it's probably not how they want to start the new channel.

Are they editing out the ticket plugs at the end of the first Showcase Showdown, and if so, how clumsy is it?

I just typed cbs.com/tickets into my browser -- that address now redirects to CBS's official Let's Make a Deal page, so it isn't awful if that plug gets left in. But I don't know where that phone number led to, or whether it's still active.
