And has there ever been a new episode on 1/1?

The last New Year's Day episode was in Season 41 , 1/1/13

TBH & IMO, I don't know or think he'll be in attendance even if he gets to the date & into the new year / beyond

True-- what I meant, however, by "physically make that centennial" is simply living to be 100, not necessarily attending any events in his honor.

The last New Year's Day episode was in Season 41 , 1/1/13

Which appears to be the only time a new episode aired on 1/1.
From the looks of it, the only other days where a new episode aired on the same day as the Tournament of Roses Parade were 1/2/2006 and 1/2/2012, both of which were Mondays. I can't find a reference as to when CBS stopped airing it.

I had to look up something as to why CBS couldn't air a new episode on NYD.  Before they did away with having college football games after the New Year's ball drop, they used to have a lot of games.  That meant the West Coast probably couldn't air a new episode on January 1 with action starting early afternoon EST.  The Gator Bowl was short-lived on CBS from around 2007 - 2011.  Now there's nothing after the Sun Bowl; I guess there could be a NY episode, but at the same time there's no need for one

the last scheduled episode is July 4, 2024 (0691L).

July 4, 2024 is a Thursday. Shouldn't it be numbered 0694, not 0691 as if it's a Monday?

It's the only episode of the week. No reason to use 0692-0695L

Just saw this posted by CBS on Instagram. Looks like they’re already lining up at least one prime time special, hopefully new ones and not encores.

(Can’t easily upload photos when doing this from my phone. Basically it shows the fall line up and has The Price is Right At Night (and Let’s Make a Deal) for the Friday 8 / 7 Central time slot).
There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

Considering the writers and actors strikes, it's no surprise they're putting Price and LMaD at Night in the Fall lineup.

For a long time, there were only four games on New Year's Day (or on 1/2 if 1/1 was a Sunday) - the Rose Bowl on NBC in the afternoon, the Orange Bowl on NBC at night, the Sugar Bowl on NBC at night, and the Cotton Bowl on CBS in the afternoon. However, I'm pretty sure the main reason for the pre-emption/repeat was, CBS always aired the Rose Parade; in fact, Bob Barker was one of CBS's hosts for a long time. There was even a New Year's Eve showcase once that included the Rose Queen, as CBS wanted to plug Bob's appearance on its parade coverage the next day.

No. That schedule is no longer accurate and the actual taping schedule we’ve seen so far has departed quite a bit from the old one removed from the official site.  All we know are the tape dates for the next month or so on OCA. They are indeed going back to the three a day schedule.

I can think of a very good reason not to make the full tape date/air date schedule public to all prospective contestants.

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

But will it help? Y'all already found out the reason before the season even began airing. If a group of bad actors wants to gain an unfair advantage, they can do so equally as effectively without knowing the specific airdates.

It'd still be nice to at least get a schedule for what's already taped and not have to rely on an old calendar for what might have taped when. It's a good thing they've stayed in order with the slates in studio, but what if they switch around the schedule like they did the first week?

It's not like the pod era where everyone that was there was someone the show casted or their friends, this is people from everywhere and those audience members should know when their shows will air in case they forget. And also if their shows get moved around; just as much as those who get called on down.

I’ve always wondered: how can it be determined what an episode number is in an imperfect world of inaccurate tape / air dates, along with shuffling episodes around? I ask because obviously the slate is never shown on air, so is there somewhere else that the episode number can be seen for sure?
