TNPiR '94 Pilot with Mark Kriski
« on: August 16, 2023, 12:32:55 AM »
Not a YouTube link. I saw this randomly on instagram. It's been 30 years since the pilot of The New Price is Right with Doug Davidson was taped. Except at the time of the pilot, Doug wasn't in the picture yet. It was KTLA's own Mark Kriski hosting with Bob Hilton on announcing duties. The footage comes from Bob Boden. Interesting stuff.

At least we finally get a decent shot of the original Range Game / Showcase board.  Blends in much better with the set compared to the final product we got.

Let me guess, Mark was considered "too local" to hire? Mr Sajak was and it worked out.

Then again, Doug kinda had a Goodson connection with his, appearances on the Feud soap weeks

Is that the original Range Game board dressed up, or did they build a fresh board from scratch?

It's the original Range Game board. The $10,000-$70,000 range prop itself was sitting in the CBS prop shop at least up until a year or two ago. It's on the left hand side of this picture.
YES! You have them all right! You win $2,500! You will putt from the closest line!

Jhc2010 putts from the closest line and WINS!!!

Congratulations! Those 2 cars are yours! Now we go to the Showcase Showdown! You will spin first. Pick a number between 1 and 20.
