They FedEx'd my very large check ($56K) to me. I don't know if that was because it was over a certain threshold, but when the show attempted to book an activity on my trip (breakfast for six nights), they couldn't and cut me another, much smaller physical check ($300).

I won the $100 door prize at a taping in May, and was told that “we just switched over” to direct deposit. I assumed it was a change for the new season. Deposit cleared just last month.

I admit I’m extrapolating from a single data point from S53, and it’s possible that they only use it for the door prize. But I can’t think of a reason why it would only apply to smaller prizes.

The thought of a Check Game sized package showing up to your door made me chuckle.

We just went to a taping on November 4th and it was amazing. Haven't been to the new studio yet so wanted to go. We did go to the 11:30 showing thinking we could possibly go to the next one, but we couldn't. Apparently there was a valentines special at 8am that day so therefore, every taping that day was a one and done. Had I been aware of that I would have booked for another day, but still an awesome experience to go to. It's just so fun.

Something that TPIR98665 said in the recap thread for 11/20: looking at those of you who have attended a taping, or multiple tapings, and become a contestant - how many times did you attend before you became a contestant? I'm only going to two tapings in December. Seeing your statistics, how possible is it to be a contestant the first time you go?

Of course, a lot of it has to do with how you interview I'd imagine. But just looking anecdotally. I remember one contestant a few seasons back finally got on, after what I thought I remember as 80 or 90+ tapings he attended.

Very possible. I’ve seen quite a few people get called on their first or second visits.

That said, everyone’s different. It took me nine visits. Seven of those were with Stan and a 300 person audience.

Every show has different needs for contestants. Although multiple visits certainly don’t hurt, it’s less a question of fitting the mold and more a case of being the right person at the right time.

If you go into the show expecting to be called, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Don’t put that kind of pressure on yourself. I would go into it expecting to have a great time regardless of whether you’re selected as a contestant.

Best advice I could ever give. I went and got lost in the moment of being with a group of people who were rooting on one another for an hour.

The only time I got disappointed at Haven was how the audience energy died off after the 6th call down. Don't be that audience. Go in, scream, yell, be energetic, have fun, soak in the experience. See being called down as the bonus, not the expectation. That way you're guaranteed to have the most amazing time.

Just went to the 2nd and 3rd taping today and had a blast. One new thing is they have a bunch of laptops to complete your sign in now rather than clipboards. You get an emailed copy of your form. However I did see someone carrying a bunch of clipboards in the studio which I think is for the winners.

I had a priority ticket for 11:30 and got #66. For the 2pm show I got #164.

I did actually go the Golden Road Brewery after the show. It was pretty good, had the brat burger. As I noted above, this is not the location next to Haven. That's the corporate office. The pub is 0.6 miles away.

You were so close to me then! My 11:30 number was 56 and 11:30 was 161 (I didn’t originally sign up for the afternoon tapping).

During the first talking, my coworker and I were the second row by the home base. Second taping we were nearly in the back row on the same side.

My first time: three tapings (two Bob, one Drew - all in TVC, all with Stan).
Second time: two tapings - both in Haven, back to back days.

I think the 'record' is 180
My taping history:

1 Bob taping somewhere around 1986
30 Drew tapings starting February 5th 2024 ending October 9, 2025
My 'Come on Down' moment occurred on October 8th 2025 (1284L).  Air date of February 5th 2026. Two years exactly from my first taping.

Dang. I went to three tapings - two Monday and one Tuesday. At least one repeat customer made it on.

I’ll add to the “don’t go to the price is right expecting to be called” theme!!

I have now been to 15 tapings. My wife was picked on taping 5. My son was picked on taping 2!  He is much more timid than I am for sure!  His audition went ok, but there were more energetic people in our audition group (including me !).

I have never been to a taping “expecting” to be picked. I go there for the thrill of it!  The fun of guessing the prices, watching contestants, watching a TV show being made, listening to Drew and George cut up, Drew coming down and shaking my hand and chatting during breaks. All of it!  It’s a blast!

Do not go to a taping to be picked!!!  Go for the fun of going to a taping!!!!
Came on down 5/21/25, 3rd position, initial 4, first on stage, won PAP, last to spin on SSD, p1 got 90, p2 spun out, I got 75 in total.  10 year countdown.  Attended 18 tapings.  2 in 2020.  February 5th, 2024 x2.  February 6th, 2024 (my wife Sherry won her PG & SC, aired April 12th).  February 7th, 2024 (My son lost PG and SC overbid Aired April 29th).  June 2024 5 tapings (incl primetime).  2025-January 22nd and 23rd x2, February 3rd, 4th (10K), and 5th x2.

Hannah, Drew, and George did an interview with a KNBC correspondent (who won $20,100 in Plinko last season prior to landing the NBC gig). The whole piece is highly recommended watching if you're planning a trip, since it helps to get a feel for what it's like to be a contestant, but especially of note:

Sam: When you're screening people who come through that door, what are you looking for?
Hannah: First, energy! This is a game show, after all. We want high energy, because ultimately people are using this show to escape for an hour, just to laugh and have fun.

Sam: I'm nervous asking you this, but what was it about me that caught your eye? "All right, this guy might be an idiot, but he'd be good on The Price is Right"?
Hannah: What you're even doing right now! One, you're super smiley. Two, you're well-spoken... You are such a genuine person, too. That's the thing. You don't ever "put on". You have genuine energy. You had a lot going on in your life at the time, too, and that's one of the things we love to hear. We love to get those stories out, too, if we can.

Sam: So at the time I was between jobs, had a baby at home, a diaper fund that needed funding. Did the personal story play a role in this?
Hannah: Yes. You, between jobs, with a baby... it was something where it's like... "If we could do something to help you out..." Ultimately it was the energy and the attitude that you had.

Sam: So I came with a group of five. Does group size play a role?
Hannah: Group size does not matter at all. Really, it's just about the person.

Sam: What about uniforms? The rumor mill is bright colors, weird outfits... we came in hot pink shirts, five of us.
Hannah: If your personality shines, it does not matter what you're wearing. Even though we love to see it on the show, it doesn't play a role.

Sam: Let's look at my performance and teach viewers at home how to NOT do what I did...
Drew: I disagree. I disagree with the whole premise. There's nothing you can do wrong on The Price is Right... the energy is amazing. It's a fantastic feeling to be around people who are having the best day. I get to experience this all day, all the time. I'm in this great joyous place all day long... you can't be in a bad mood.

George: I'm gonna say your name... you black out. That's normal. "Did you have fun? What did you win? (mimicking a nervous contestant) 'Idon'tknowIdon'tknow.'" They have no idea!

Not sure how long the KNBC website will host video, so check it out while you can.

I'll add something about dress -- don't wear seasonal clothing unless the episode is explicitly labeled a holiday episode. Episodes are taped months in advance so that "All I want for Christmas is to come on down" shirt is going to look weird when it airs in June.

The video is cool as it shows the process of being in the audience including shots of the choir room, interview room etc.
