Another General Hospital alumnus, John Capodice, also known for the skeptical Officer Aguado in the first Ace Ventura film, passes on at 83:

Additionally, wrestling legend Black Bart passes on from cancer at 76, with it being unclear if he'd ever actually found Stan Hansen.  His career highlights included a strong teaming with Outlaw Ron Bass as the Long Riders in several promotions, a run as WCCW champion towards the end of its glory years (although the match in which he'd supposedly won it never actually took place, a storyline cover for Chris Adams' firing from the company), and several tag titles in the GWF (where I myself knew him best, as a member of the Wild Bunch):

Man this one hurts.  When I was younger, I remember a time where Barker could've been swapped in whatever he was doing with Uecker, and at least someone may not have noticed.  In time I came to the point where the two really didn't look that much alike.

I was literally just thinking about the guy yesterday (if not Tuesday).  Of course, Bob's passing is tough regardless of that.  I believe his final booth days last time were on and off, and he had called it quits for good after the Brewers season ended.

For me, side things Ueck did that I enjoyed included Mr. Belvedere and of course Major League.  Definitely a tough loss for the entire MLB community.

Heard about Tony Slattery. Colin Mochrie thought very kindly of him.

Twin Peaks, The Straight Story, and Mulholland Dr. had a huge effect on me.

While the cause of death isn’t disclosed in this article, he mentioned two months ago that he was homebound using oxygen to breathe on account of emphysema from smoking four packs a day for 30 years. He was actively working on projects and hoped to be able to direct them remotely. He was also evacuated from his home last week because of the fires. There is no official confirmation that the fires played a part, obviously, but one has to wonder about the timing.

In an interview given just two months back, he admitted that while his famous smoking habit had “a huge price to pay” and he hoped other smokers learned from his situation, he didn’t have regrets about how he lived.

“I wish what every addict wishes for: that what we love is good for us.”

Password looks like any idiot could have made it up, but we have 14 of our people working on that show. There is a great complexity behind the screen. It requires great work to keep it simple."

Melba Montgomery, country singer who dueted with George Jones, age 86 after a bout with dementia.

She was probably more famous for her 1974 country (and crossover pop) song, "No Charge," an ode to motherhood and the sacrifices mothers make.

Melba also had the original version of Juice Newton's breakthrough hit, "Angel Of the Morning." Melba's version was a top 40 country hit, but it was Juice who made it most famous.

In the late 1990s, she was a co-writer of George Strait's top-5 country hit "What Do You Say To That."

RIP to another of our country music legends. The list of living performers from my childhood and prior to my birth continues to dwindle, so enjoy the living ones while you can.

She was Martha Wilson in Dennis the Menace (1993).   "He's only a boy!"

She was also the nanny for Roger and Anita in the live action version of 101 Dalmatians in 1996 too.

The original version in 1967 was by Evie Sands while Merrilee Rush's 1968 cover was the first to chart. Melba's version was from 1978.

Jeff Torborg, former MLB catcher & manager, age 83

I believe he was the only person to catch a couple no-hitters from Sandy Koufax & Nolan Ryan.
