It's got some kinks to iron out, but I've really liked the new edition so far. It feels more like the Whoopi-era Hollywood Squares of my youth than I expected because of some well-placed jokes and genuinely entertaining banter.
Nate Burleson oozes charisma, and I think he'll be fine once he settles in and gets a bit less robotic. Drew Barrymore is a meh center square, but at least she's got good chemistry with Nate. And I love the rotating announcer duties; it's a callback to Shadoe Stevens announcing from inside the board, and it's been fun to hear various celebrities' announcer voices.
The pacing is easily the biggest issue—they're still playing a game designed to go 3-4 rounds but sometimes they can't even make it through two. If that's all they can manage without having to cut all the jokes, I think they should play two rounds for the same dollar amount and have some kind of quick tiebreaker if they go 1-1. That way it won't feel like every game is half-finished.
