This is a great way of modernising the 'Golden Gallery' and is already well on the way to be an essential TPIR site like the others it references.

I have been wanting to put all the images of international pricing games that I've accumulated for the 'Pricing Games Around The World' thread onto a website, but haven't got the time or web design knowledge.  Not sure if this is something of interest for you to develop as part of this 'Golden Gallery' site but I'd be happy to provide the screenshots I have (around 2000 total) if it is.  My vision was a grid layout with filters so they can be filtered by either 1) pricing game (displaying all versions of the pricing game from all countries) or 2) by international series (so all the pricing games for a specific series can be viewed).   The combination of filtering by pricing game and grid layout would also enable direct comparison of all international versions of a pricing game, which was one of my aims when the 'World' thread was started.

This is a good idea, but I think it’s contingent on demand for it and ability to make it. There’s only so much time we have each day to work on it, and only so much bandwidth we have to work with. The primary effort at the moment is filling out the PG pages; we might circle back to this once those are closer to completion.

I love it! I remember visiting this site before the message boards were added, and being a lurker on the old MSN boards.

One suggestion: We should add a section showcasing (pun intended) members who have been contestants, maybe an interview about their experiences and how they got into watching TPIR and what appeals most to them about the show. Since we have an ever-increasing number of alumni here.  :-)

This is another good idea, again, it’s something we might circle back to once the PG pages are further along.

Some of you have DMed suggestions for PG pictures that should be featured and those pages have been updated.

The first new drop of pricing game pages is in:

https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/poker-game/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/one-right-price/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/danger-price/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/three-strikes/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/hurdles/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/cliff-hangers/

Future drops will probably happen once a month or so in bundles. As always, if there are bugs, broken links, or essential playings we missed, let us know.

Since 24 games were introduced from Season 4-8, this "era" will probably take multiple drops. We'll try not to leave the page hanging too long without an update.

Currently under construction:
Safe Crackers
Dice Game
Bullseye
Switcheroo
Hole in One
Squeeze Play
Secret X

Well done gamesurf so far, this is definitely the most enjoyable fan site that I've seen in many years! I especially enjoy the pricing games selection as it really enhances upon the old "A Salute To Price Is Right Pricing Games" site that had its own collection of photos, but the enhanced multimedia and links to the stats for each game really take it to the next level. Plus its still nice to see the classic Gallery still active.

The Tiny Timeline has potential to be a nice alternative to the technical timeline and is more user-friendly. The little summary of world events and prices of three items is a nice way to go back to that particular year. With the clear exceptions of the Cullen, half hour, start of the Drew era, and the Covid seasons, the rest of those eras just seemingly blend from one era to another. For example, "Hour Power" was named after opening title animations used from midway through Season 4 up through Season 9, and then sporadically until midway through Season 12, although 1980 seems like a logical cutoff point due to the end of the original nighttime run. 1985 is another good cutoff point not necessarily due to high achievement, but due to the numerous prop and studio design changes that year along with the arrival of Rod Roddy (perhaps "enter Rod Roddy" could have been this era's title). But one little thing about something in the season 3 page was that the show wasn't #1 at the time, it was fellow CBS show Match Game '75, but it was still a high performing show which of course prompted the expansion. Also, the transition to "The Bob Show" really began following the death of executive producer Frank Wayne in 1988 and picked up after Mark Goodson's passing in 1992.

Still, I've learned some new facts about the show that I've never known, including the "four continents" Contestants' Row and the 2011 playing where Hans literally hangs sideways from the side of the prop. Keep it up!

Good catch, fixed. The future new page for the late 70's is going to mention that, the effort at the moment is going to the pricing games first.

Are there any memorable contestants from 1975-1980 that should be highlighted as part of the contestant spotlight? Any must-see memorable moments that won't naturally be highlighted by pricing games?

Patricia Bernard in 1976 (the bathroom incident), Yolanda Bowsley in 1977, (clue: a synonym for what you want to get to win Secret "X" which premiered that same day), Alene fainting in the Showcases the day after Yolanda's episode, and Vanna White in the 1980 portion of Season 8 are the big four moments that come to mind during that stretch. Hopefully in the coming years, we'll see more of those episodes turn up from that era.

Price experimented with some radically new ideas for games in 1976 and 1977, and these new pages are experimenting with some new things as well.

Music? Audio clips? Official video embeds? Take a look!

If you've stayed up-to-date with recent airings, you may notice that some of these screenshots are as recent as a few weeks old. Some game pages, like Ten Chances, have also been updated with some recent memorable moments.

The next update will not be this complex, given that three of the games bit the dust rather quickly, but it may take a while simply because April is a swamped month for outside reasons. They're boiling, stay tuned.

A fresh new set of pages are available, including:

- THREE different Finish Line playings
- Shower Game not being quite as dead as we'd have hoped
- A supercut of shocked contestant reactions to the It's Optional reveal
- One absent-fingered professor
- The largest page by far (by a long shot)

https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/professor-price/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/finish-line/

https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/shower-game/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/its-optional/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/punch-a-bunch/

Thanks to all those who helped put these together. An updated "THANKS" is added on the About page.

These are all great.  Thank you!  While the late 70s had some flops, it gave us Punch-A-Bunch which is one of the most beloved pricing games to this day!

Take Two has been updated with today's playing, as it's the closest thing to a memorable moment you can get in Take Two.

We did a deep dive on Trader Bob's retirement, we Zapruder Filmed the final playings of Penny Ante for clues as to what happened, and Telephone Game... exists!

https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/bargain-game/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/trader-bob/
https://golden-gallery.net/ggg/grand-game/

We've finally completed pages for all 46 pricing games introduced in the 1970s. It was hoped to be able to push the Late 70's page along with this update, but that wasn't feasible... it will be the very next thing you'll see.

What are the memorable moments and contestants from 1975 to 1980 that must be included? Let us know!

It wasn't until today that I realized the interiors of Penny Ante's price reveal flaps remained red and orange (matching the original color scheme) throughout the entire life of the game.

So in January and February 2002, Penny Ante was played three times. All three had some sort of malfunction. On both Jan 14 and Feb 1, triggering a "NO" price ended up accidentally also triggering a "YES" reveal.

But the Feb 21 playing is most interesting of all. Presumably something happened that required them to edit it to pieces.

• On GP #1, Bob presses the $2.80 button, which reveals a "NO", but for some reason the buzzer sounds twice
• Then Bob says, "you're wrong" and the board is unlit and the $2.80 flap is shut
• The contestant then picks $2.19. There's a cut from a wide shot with all lights unlit and all flaps shut as Bob begins to press the button...
• ...to both lights being lit as the chase lights follow $2.19 up to reveal "YES"...
• ...then the board has been fully reset as Bob leads the contestant over to GP #2...
• ...the flaps have been opened again as Bob reveals a "YES" on $6.72...
• ...and we cut back to Bob celebrating with the winner with the flaps shut again, but the $2.19 flops open on camera as the contestant celebrates.

I have no real satisfactory way to make sense of what might have happened and what was covered up, but it's a continuity disaster.
