A lot of talk about the Skydance/Paramount merger as it relates to one of the CBS programs coming to an end. 

However, there was a rather significant story related to the same thing.

Basically the league has the right to opt out of the current TV contract whenever there's a sale within that time frame.  There isn't an expectation for that to happen; FWIW, I also don't see everyone getting to 2034 before a change in the 11-year TV deal.  An expectation would be to extend it or nix it after the 2029 season, which is around the time the current CBA expires.  The league has that right, plus they do have the right to boot CBS (before the end of the decade).  In other words, pulling the plug which would mean putting their contract up for someone to bid. 

Too soon to forecast that accurately, but if it is early & someone else takes their package I imagine it'll occur following the 2027 season

The Falcons preseason opener ended early after Lions DB Morice Norris was taken to the hospital after sustaining an injury that left him motionless. 6:31 was left in the game with the Lions leading 17-10. Word is Norris is alert and has movement.

Michael Penix III did not play at all in the preseason which may account for the Falcons going winless. Easton Stick started against Dallas the past Friday and while he was acceptable (20-28, 198 yards, 1 TD, 1 pick) it's hard to tell if it saves him from getting cut. (UPDATE: it didn't. Stick was cut yesterday but only because the Falcons are keeping Kirk Cousins as backup QB.)

20 Years for FNIA and (the NBC Era of) SNF...culminating with the network that airs both airing yet another Super Bowl.  I think it's NBC's 21 Super Bowl they've had.

The feeling IMO is that more people "want Dallas to lose" as opposed to "wanting Philadelphia to win" the game.

Tonight might be the only game I'd watch from start to finish since it'll be very sweet TV.  However I wouldn't be shocked if the Cowboys still covered that 8.5 as it's division football, and at least most of the country is going with the champs tonight
