Coaches poll has Georgia Tech at 19 and the AP has them at 23 (wrong again! Curses!). Next they're at Atlanta's MBS vs. Georgia ("Good old-fashioned hate"), Friday.

Yeah, definitely curtains for Georgia Tech.  The good news is that the game against Georgia has to be played.

Speaking of the ACC, it kind of sucks that Pittsburgh has to play yet another noon game (making the delayed kickoff time irrelevant).  They're not expected to beat Miami and unless they pull of yet another upset, Virginia and SMU don't have to do anything.  Their games are in primetime.  They both could win 223-0; it doesn't matter.  Both programs have to win the ACC Title game if they want to get to the playoff.

Georgia OL Nyier Daniels is no longer on the team. On Sunday morning he was arrested after going 150 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. He faces four felony counts as well. And his mother was cited for blocking a police pursuit of Daniels.

Georgia clinches the SEC East and a spot in the SEC title game next week. They'll rise in the rankings no higher than #3 with Texas A&M losing to Texas. This and Indiana (who routed Purdue 56-3) with a chance at #1 is contingent on the Ohio State-Michigan game later. Buckeyes are a -10 favorite.

Ohio State snaps a five-game losing streak against Michigan and will face undefeated Indiana for the Big 10 title. Elsewhere, Georgia faces Alabama (Iron Bowl winners last night) for the SEC crown. The only championship game to be determined is the Mountain West where four teams finish with a 6-2 conference record (New Mexico State, Boise State, UNLV, San Diego State). Computer analytics is to determine who plays.(UPDATE: It will be UNLV and Boise State.)

I plan on going more in-depth in terms of the College Football Playoff (and the Rankings).  The penultimate rankings for 2025 in brief feature several teams moving up due to Texas A&M's fall, and Notre Dame/Alabama swapping places.

At least for the most part, the top teams within the Big 10 and the SEC are playoff bound, but the placements on who plays when & where will be disclosed on Sunday

The first night of Championship weekend is in the books with Kennesaw State, James Madison, Tulane and Boise State winners. Today's contests will put things in focus for the Bowl Selection Show tomorrow as well as the Playoffs. Georgia can lock in #2 in the rankings with a win against Alabama in the SEC title game regardless of who wins the Big 10 game.

The top 3 is locked in as Indiana, Georgia and Texas Tech and each have a bye in the first playoff round. We now wait till noon to see who goes where in the playoffs and the bowl games.

Not 100% sure about TTU as a Top 3 team.  That should be accurate, but the committee recently avoided a scenario of a rematch before the tournament final.  Ohio State dropping to 4 isn't a surprise, but dropping to 3 isn't a shocker as they lost to an undefeated No 2 team.

I guess we'll see if the antics from the Atlantic Coast Conference will result in Alabama being the first team out for the second consecutive year and 3rd time in 4 years.  Man I hope not, as we're already slated to get (at least) 2 massive blowouts in less than 2 weeks to start the postseason.

But it's probably going to be a battle with 3 teams for 2 spots (Notre Dame, Miami, Alabama).  Regardless of a shocking move where a 5-loss Duke jumps JMU.

CBS has Ohio State at #2, Georgia at 3 and Texas Tech at 4. We'll know all at noon ET.

UPDATE: The AP top 25 does have the 1-2 punch of Indiana and Georgia with Ohio State at 3 and Texas Tech staying at 4 in spite of defeating BYU in the Big 10 game. Alabama drops two spots to 11. If they don't make the CFP cut, they'll be drinking heavily in Tuscaloosa at lunchtime.

For starters, Indiana & Ohio State do in fact flip.

Georgia vs Ohio State is possible in early 2026, Oregon vs Texas Tech is expected

Yep, the Ducks will face Texas Tech if they win their first-rounder.

And the Tide makes the cut. They'll visit at Oklahoma.

It's been a minute since I've linked to Twitter; I'll try one more time to link to the CFB Playoff Bracket

If Notre Dame gets a bowl invitation, they're telling the committee what they can do with it after being left out of the playoffs. Iowa State and Kansas State are also rejecting bowl bids (through circumstances regarding their HCs) and are being fined $500,000 for it.
