I think I need to restate what I attempted to relay before. You don't have to agree with this, just look at it from a different point of view.
It can be quite a shock at first to see just how good the quality of early episodes can be. It's downright flooring. I guess I'm just used to it because I always seek out the best quality material for my collection.
It's safe to assume that all the Goodson-Todman material has held up well over the years. This particular episode was sourced from a dub made for a local station at the time of the show's syndication. It was won on EBay in 2001 and a dub was made of it then. Even then, the tape has held up very, very well.
I apologize for jumping to conclusions. I am just used to the DVD set, various trade sources, and GSN reruns (when they had the rights, that is.)
I think what cbach88 meant to say was.... "This looks better than multi-generational copies that I've seen."
