Wheel of Fortune theme
« on: August 11, 2006, 03:12:02 PM »
Does anyone know why Wheel of Fortune completely changed it's theme starting in the 94-95 season?  The tune they had prior was catchy and probably well-known.  Why fix something that's not broken? (Yes, I know.  This is Wheel of Fortune we're talking about)

Is that when Sony took over?  Maybe that has something to do with it.

I do believe that is when Sony took over.  That's my guess for the reason the theme changed but I can't comfirm it thus I asked.

According to Brad's site, the original theme song to Wheel was Alan Thicke's "Changing Keys", and they changed it because they didn't want to have to keep paying royalties to him:

Alan's theme was titled "Big Wheels". Merv composed "Changing Keys" in '83.
