What is a freudian slip?

(1/2) > >>

CampDaddy90:
I've heard of a "freudian slip" that occured during a playing of Grocery Game during Season 34. Could someone define "freudian slip" for me?

Nick:
Per Dictionary.com, a freudian slip is,  "A verbal mistake that is thought to reveal an unconscious belief, thought, or emotion."  Interpret that as you will.

lucyrickyalex:
If I remember the scene correctly, a lady mispronounced "Tidy Cats".  I'd go into more detail, but this is a family-frienly board, is it not?  :-D

Joe_Mello:
Piggybacking from Nick, the term "Freudian slip" is often used when the mistake is has a sexual connotation.  After all, this is the guy who thought that a cigar isn't just a cigar.

I don't suppose we could use an everyday example of this, could we?
