I wouldn't expect the audience to know that zero is never used in the game, and technically, it is a valid number as it has been used in the game; but Roger would never use it, and Roger's not putting together the games anymore,

I wouldn't expect the audience to know zeros haven't been used in Lucky $even in 20 years, either.  I personally am wondering if they are keeping to it though, in all playings of Ten Chances this season, they kept the zero rule intact.

It's not to say that Adam would put a zero in Lucky $even.  We simply can't tell what he will do with these kinds of things, which isn't a good thing.  I wouldn't expect to see any changes to Ten Chances as far as zeroes go.  It's zero rules are slightly more recognised amongst the Joe Plinkos than that of Lucky $even, as evidenced by today's show; but have we had any Ten Chances playings this season that weren't part of Roger's lineups for the season?  It's been so long since it was played, that I don't even remember immediately when it was last played.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

Nick:
We've had one 10C playing in a non-Roger lineup (12/12/08). We never got to see the price of the car in that particular playing, but the first two prizes adhered to the 0 rule.

Lucky 7: The 2nd number was a cinch for me and I still would've pulled it off with a dollar left. Calling a zaro as the last number spelled doom.

Punch: Stopping with $1K is the thing to do especially with one more hole left despite what may be in it if it's good or bad.

Double: Green Screen Pillars.....Meh. Good job.

Bullseye: Very nice.

TTM: Suzanne was a BLAST!!!! She had it all together and deserved the car hands down!!!  :-)

2 for 1: The total of the prizes not revealed?  :-o Hope it'll be back. Excellent:

Showcases: the 1st one was kinda' strange with just practically arcade games involved and the 2nd did look fairly well with such HUGE additions for that Las Vegas vacation. I bidded around $15K on the 1st one and around $19K on the second one. Boy, did Stephen pull a big  :wotc:!!!!

A 3-star show.

The end of Lucky $even was painful to watch.

Wow!  Double Prices actually got played third!

Speaking of Double Prices, that green screen backdrop for the offroad vehicle was enough to make someone dizzy.  Those really need to go away.

Drew needs to find a better way to explain Bullseye.

You know, this is going to seem like a ridiculous complaint, but That's Too Much! is being won too often lately.  I never realized it until they started making it easier, but the game is meant to be hard.  The excitement always came from the rare wins...and that element's taken away when the right answer is always the third or fourth price.

I wonder why they didn't reveal the total price of the package in 2 for the Price of 1.

Incidentally, as nice as it was to hear that cue they used in 2 for the Price of 1, it really would have fit much better with Bullseye.

The showcases seemed a bit off today.  The first one was too short, and the second one seemed to end kind of abruptly -- the last prize needed to not be a camera.

I wouldn't expect the audience to know zeros haven't been used in Lucky $even in 20 years, either.  I personally am wondering if they are keeping to it though, in all playings of Ten Chances this season, they kept the zero rule intact.

Yes, all two of them!

Suzanne had possibly the greatest shout in That's Too Much history!  That is how you know we had a loyal viewer on our hands here!  True, Drew did emphasize the shouting more than he usually does, but he still didn't go over it as much as Bob usually did, and even Bob never really got a shout like that one today :).  Also cool how she played the game so quickly, and ran off to see the car without being prompted by Drew.

"Contestants Not Appearing on Stage" makes for a really strange Two for the Price of One cue.  On the other hand, any time they actually want to throw that cue at us, I can't complain.  I've actually been listening to it over and over in the CBS Video the past several minutes.

On a related note, a little thing I miss about Roger:  the number setup in Two for the Price of One was just sloppy.  For the first digit, the higher number was above the lower number, but for the other two digits, the higher number was below the lower number.  Consistency would look nicer.

Still talking about Two for the Price of One, it was really nice to see that instead of a quickie like I was expecting.  The show felt timed long.  It's good when a show feels like it's timed long.  Double Prices third may have contributed to that.

I'm kinda' surprised contestants don't choose zero in Lucky $even more often.  I mean, it's good that they don't, but still.

Confession time:  I bid $45,000 on the second showcase today.  I apparently have no idea whatsoever how much a private jet trip costs.  On another note, there was something cool about how the showcase went backwards in prize value, instead of forward... felt kinda' like a first season showcase setup.

For the record, the most important room in the house is not the game room.  Or the living room or dining room, for that matter.  It's the bathroom.  That's the one room you need most of all.

Anyone else notice that XBOX360 in SC#1 today that wasn't even mentioned? That's about another $300-$600 (depending on the # of gigs, games, etc) which could have made a difference on her bid.

Surprisingly, it's actually not that much. I looked into one for a trip from New Orleans to Kansas City one time (long story short, an airline which offered a direct flight shut down and became a charter airline), and it was only about $3500 a person. Lucky Jets seems to be cheaper if you check their website (about $1500).

Did anyone notice that there seemed to be an edit at the end of the show.  I heard Drew say "she won twentyeight thou-thousand five hundred 29 dollars worth of prizes today.  Also I thought the edit was visibly obvious.  Anyone notice it?  Was someone there at this taping that could explain the edit?

Absolutely!  With more players and wins like this, the game I used to hate because of its low win percentage and difficulty in winning may become fun to watch on a regular basis!  That was great yesterday!  I think one of the best strategies for That's Too Much! is to not only look for the price that is just over the ARP, BUT study the increase in price amounts as Drew increases the dollar amounts.  When you notice that first big jump in ARP that can often be a good time to stop with your shout-out.

Speaking of That's Too Much!  Does anyone know the largest and smallest increases in the amounts of cars used in this game that produced wins?

Joe

HA!!
I did the same thing yesterday when I watched it online. Damn that CNAOS with the string accompanment tune is SWEEEEET!!!!

After 7-10 listens, it kinda starts to fit with the 2 for 1 game. :-)
