Great win on an easy Grand Game setup to start the show.

I might have to disagree with you on that one.   I thought that setup was nasty.   The oatmeal and drink were obvious easy ones.   The conditioner was the easiest to avoid.   It was nasty between the bread, the cookies, and sponge.   I lost that one thinking the cookies were under $5.50.

If Grand is 31 then I am Rip Van Winkle. Grand is from 1980  so 41 years.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm on vacation from work, and so is my mathematical mind! At least YOU get to correct somebody for once. Thanks! 😃

I love it when the older pricing games get love. Grand Game was the youngest pricing game in the line-up, just a few days shy of it's 31st birthday!

Bonus points for having the first three pricing games on the same show!

Actress Tawny Kitaen, known for her appearances in Whitesnake videos during the 1980s, passed away in her home Friday at age 59. No cause of death was given.

She was also the 2nd female cohost (during seasons 3 and 4) of America's Funniest People who came on after original cohost Arleen Sorkin was fired by Vin Di Bona (which would be a topic for another thread)

FPG -- Friday Prediction Game / FPG 4/30/21 - RESULTS

For a climax to the week, it was not a teribly strong one. I know plenty of people had it bad with this lineup, but it also seems like the budget's hurting a little looking at the winnings this week. 2 cars, 4 winless halves, 1 DOB, there isn't a ton of love in this club we call winnings. I know they aren't everything, but people have been commenting about it and I felt I had to bring it up. Let's see what happened with these games:

Push Over - 7 picks. 04 nailed it, 22FJB maxed out and gained 4x PA for it.
Hi-Lo (for a CAR) - 3 picks. Cephas, Sweeper and Wayo collect 15K.
Magic # - 2 picks. Wayo and Tan8 each get 25K. Wayo adds 4/12 and Tan gains 2/2 from it.
1/2 Off - 2 picks. dprice and Kev earn 25K in addition to the 2x PA dprice receives.
Pocket Change - Kev takes it all for himself. 50K and 4/20 for that pick.
Double Prices - 4 picks. Kev, 22FJB, Cephas, Wayo will add 10K to their pots. Wayo had it 6th, but everyone had it for a win. Cephas and Kev get 1x PA.

Only one non-key game and two people predicting more than 2 games right. Between people picking the wrong 2P, wrong casher, wrong car games, a lot of work fell on the quickies to raise our scores. We've had rougher weeks, but things definitely didn't go my way or a few others at the donut shop. At the top of the leaderboard, we have Wayo with 8/30, then Kev with 7/30, and 22FJB after a strong start with 5/29. Interesting that all three got 4 MP with different games, that feels rare.

April has come and gone, but May has sprung and we are flying through the flowers. No limits or telling where this month goes, but I hope you all stick around to play some more as we begin to start winding down our season.

Was this the first time the items in Grand Game - or, for that matter, any game besides Grocery Game - were themed?

Probably a coincidence, but in this Bonus Game playing from December 30, 2011, the four small prizes all made something you would consume: A burger maker, coffee brewer (maker), donut hole maker and a sno cone maker.

EDIT: Thinking it over, I wonder if they wanted to slot Grocery Game instead of Grand Game and changed their minds for some reason? 🤔

Really nice show today, loved how they decorated the set for Mother's Day and the mother/child duos were all enjoyable. Also liked how the lineup was filled with classic games, including all of the games played on the very first episode.

Great win on an easy Grand Game setup to start the show.

Very tricky price in Lucky $even which is unusual for a special episode. At least they went high on the 2nd digit to not be in a bad spot early, but the low numbers for the 3rd and 4th digits and the 9 for the last digit was just mean.

Also a nice touch to have the mothers of the staff and crew listed in the credits.

Or possibly some members that for some reason don't acknowledge their mothers?  Either someone who grew up without parents, or just have stopped speaking to a parent(s).  No clue if that is the case, but it does happen in general, so it is a possibility.

I figured it may have been a situation where someone may have been raised by their father and sadly never connected with their mothers (there might be on speaking terms but maybe those that were excluded were due to a lack of comfort or other reasons).  Not a case of being disowned, or a situation where one's mother is deceased & there wasn't a definitive connection between mom and child; either way it's sad, but it is what it is.

Nonetheless, it was very nice of the staff to list the mothers of most of the cast and crew.  Sorta reminded me of ESPN programming and SportsCenter on Mother's Days in the past where instead of listing one's occupation or Twitter handle, they replaced those with son of / daughter of [Name of their mothers].

As mentioned, the set looked completely gorgeous, coupled with an awesome line-up.  I don't know off the top of my head, but outside of Decades Week and other specials, this may have been the first episode in quite a while where all the pricings games were exclusively from the shows first 8 seasons

Kudos to whoever decided to list almost everyone's mother in the credits.  (Also, why was it almost everyone?  Some sort of union requirement, maybe?)
