CSS -- Chatroom Showcase Showoff / CSS Results for 05/19/2026 (Game 112)
« Last post by Wayoshi on Today at 12:12:41 PM »
SC1 obviously needed a second round of 6 nights to get over 20k, but it didn't quite reach Fireball quality in the end. Very funky set of prizes for sure. The only 23k bid overdid NYC, so nam cashes there. Said NYC ended up 12k+, the penthouse suite paid off and Stagey survived today (and ended up in 3rd!), Army cashes and wins overall here.

My bet on Swap pays off, but no first GRECO yet as the quickie choices were pretty awful today. I'm kind of expecting that Key & Race reverse ghost tomorrow now, too...

I think a move to Georgia is very feasible and not a bad commute at all for Drew and George.

Monday evening Drew and George take off in a private jet to Atlanta, work Tues Wed and Thursday. Last taping done at 4/5 on Thursday, private car to the airport and private jet takes off around 6, with the time change they are back in California around 8 pm. They get Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday morning off. The show already knows it can move all of the games, they have done it once before, but now this would be a longer distance and would take more planning.

Jack Douglas, record producer who worked with luminaries such as Aerosmith, John Lennon and Cheap Trick, age 80. Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" was born from Jack's insistence it was to be a record after seeing the old "walk this way" gag in the movie Young Frankenstein.

And there you have it - Carolina, Colorado, Montreal, and Vegas have all moved on to the third round as the second round concludes, with Montreal scoring the overtime winner in Game 7 against Buffalo to win 3-2 and take the series 4-3.

That also means Canada's quest for a Stanley Cup continues for another round.

In the East final (starting on May 21) it will be Montreal and Carolina, while in the West final (starting on May 20) it will be Vegas and Colorado.

The show's not moving unless Drew is, and I've seen no indication that's in the offing.

Taping 200 episodes a year of the most logistically demanding daily production on television is a lot different than, say, a limited summer replacement series... or even a straightforward assembly line game show like Family Feud or The Perfect Line that can knock out their whole season in 2 or 3 months.

True, Price was and still is a very logistically-demanding production, and as long as hard goods remain the majority of the prizes, it will continue to hold that claim; but considering that they did knock out a whole season in six months, along with defaulting to all-cash shows to ease production, are they really that far off at this point?

If there is a lesson the powers-that-are learned this past season, it's they can only pump out so many shows on such a tight timeline that enough people will even show up for the day's third taping.  Two shows per day five days per week, and you knock out two hundred episodes in about five months.  Let's say Price tapes one week and Let's Make a Deal the next, and they alternate.  Both shows are wrapped in ten months.  I don't think it's so unreasonable a proposition for Drew to commute out to Florida every other week for a schedule like that (He probably wouldn't want to, but it doesn't mean it's undoable).

A lot of cities are offering tax breaks for shows to tape in their city.

Wordie (NBC) is taping in the UK, and there's a new primetime game show being developed that is taping in Portugal. Multiple countries taping in one central location seems to be the new thing and is cheaper for the networks.

And why wouldn't they?  You think the government of California would read the writing on the wall and cut taxes, but here we are.

Tom Kane, legendary voice actor known for Prof. Utonium on Powerpuff Girls, Darwin on The Wild Thornberrys, and many other beloved roles has passed today.

His last known public appearance was about a month ago at a convention, where Kane reunited with his fellow PPG co-stars; Catherine Cavadini (Blossom), Tara Strong (Bubbles) and E.G. Daily (Buttercup).

Tom Kane was 64 years old. It is likely believed Kane had passed from complications of the massive stroke he suffered in 2020 that crippled his ability to talk, forcing his retirement. At the time of his stroke, Tom was then the voice of Yoda in Star Wars.
