Should also note that Greg Knapp, a longtime assistant coach in the NFL, also died Thursday due to injuries sustained in a bicycling accident when he was struck by a motorist in San Ramon, California on July 17th. He was 58. He was slated to be the passing game specialist for the New York Jets in the 2021-22 season.

Getting back to the original topic, I am excited that there will be some form of audience this season. Cheers to an epic season 50!

Put simply, because CBS primetime does not exist to serve the Price is Right. Whatever they decide to do and wherever they decide to do it will depends on what else they have going on. They're not going to be bound by a specific week/weekend time frame. Maybe it works out that way, maybe it doesn't. The average person isn't going to be keeping track nor care of how close to an actual anniversary form a half century ago it comes.

Robert Parris "Bob" Moses has passed on at age 86. This one hurts. A strong activist for civil rights and education literacy, Moses was one of the big names at the Student Nonviolence Coordinating Committee and helped in the 1964 dismantle of segregation in Mississippi and the beginning of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. In 1982 he started the Algebra Project, an organization to help do math literacy in inner city communities to help their futures.

This one hurts me personally because I want to teach civil rights in community college. That's my dream. That's why I have 4 degrees.

Well put Mr. Weatherman.  ITA.

The suggestion on this really starts or started with me.  It appears that they can't celebrate the way they want to right away.  However, instead of honoring 50 years in its 50th season, they can do so on the actual anniversary year, 50 years removed.  Even though I mentioned it a couple of times elsewhere, all I was saying is that it likely wouldn't happen on 09/04/22 since it falls on the Sunday before Labor Day.  As stated, it doesn't have to be on that date, but around it is fair enough.

Anyway, having it in August of next year and then airing it again as a rerun on 09/04 is a possibility.  Not a big deal

I could see them doing it on the Friday before. That'd make sense. They've done stuff like that in past for special events/days so......why not this too?

Weíre really arguing over this?

Just air a primetime special at some point during the season and re-air it on 9/4/22.  IIRC, the 30th Anniversary Special was shown a second time in the summer of Ď02, so there is absolutely precedent.  In fact, it makes sense because itís something CBS can easily air against SNF without putting any new dollars into a product that wonít capture the desired audience.  Itís a win-win as far as the network is concerned.

If that 9/4 date isnít in the cards for the network, I wonít lose any sleep over it.  Iíll only be disappointed if the show doesnít receive some form of primetime acknowledgment in general.  Daytime should be lit, though. 🔥
