Title: The Gritty Reboot: gamesurf's Price is Right - THE END!
Post by: gamesurf on June 20, 2019, 07:39:36 PM
Everybody likes a good comeback story, right? Seabiscuit; The Mighty Ducks; Robert Downey Jr; Rocky...

After two and half years, WELCOME BACK, EVERYBODY! Y'all made this possible! It's my privilege to present to you the first show in this summer's shiny, newly renovated HYO section! This is still your favorite game, with wonderful fake prizes for smart shoppers...but with a little bit of extra flair and a personal touch just for you guys in this forum.

This is a half-hour episode; six people will come on down, three will play pricing games, top two winners go to the Showcases.

Audience participation is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED! Jokes, banter, memes, are ALWAYS welcome! Shouting out prices and advice is welcome, too, at all times except during the IUFBs.

Since this is the HYO section, we’ll be exploring a little bit of gray area in this show that may not fly on CBS daytime. But it’s definitely rated PG. Maybe PG-12.

Other ground rules:

Now, if you want to play, here’s an interview question!

CBS has hired you as the prize coordinator. You hear a ring on the phone. CBS has a dilemma for you—they want to add one last-minute promotional show for the end of the season. Unlike other specials, this one will be sponsored. By Ex-Lax. And they insist you offer enough of their product to underline how special it is.

They’ve sent you a giant crate of filled with boxes of chocolate laxatives they expect to see featured on the show in some way. There’s only one taping day left in the end of the season, so you have to…ahem…*dump* all of your sponsors’ material into this one show. You have to give away 5,000 tablets of Ex-Lax laxatives in one day. How do you do it?

You have license to tweak anything about the show you need to in order to keep your sponsor happy. The most creative answers will be given priority in coming on down—and the less serious, the better.

Answers will be close at 11:59 PM EST on Tuesday June 25. Can’t wait to read them! And the show will get on the road Wednesday afternoon... Good luck!

I'm in! Let's do it!

As for the Ex-Lax, that's easy. Give away chocolate for a year in every pricing game... on their annual Valentine's Day special. To add, I'll have Drew not tell the contestants they have laxatives in it. Marriage rates will plummet and CBS will get all sort of lawsuits while I say 'you wanted me to sell them.' ...And they'll probably do the same gimmick next year regardless due to Ex-Lax having such deep pockets. And then an Ex-Lax executive will run for president and win, signifying their complete takeover of the United States of America. And then we'll truly be in... 'deep crap.' :-D

So excited to have HYO back.

I'd tie it in with a prize featuring an entire bathroom makeover including a home theatre package for the bathroom, an expensive toilet with heated and cooled seat and a squatty-potty.

Am I in?  You bet your Plinko chips I’m in!

Both Showcase Showdown segments are sponsored by Ex-Lax.  For every number the Big Wheel lands on, that number is multiplied by 10, and the contestant receives that number of tablets.  That should cut down a good chunk of them.  The rest can be divided up and presented as a gift to the audience during an appropriately-themed, gas-related Showcase featuring the ultimate bathroom, complete with an air-locking/soundproof commode with bidet feature, plus ‘pinto beans for a year’.

First, I want to thank you, gamesurf, for what you've done to bring back the HYO. I never thought I would ever say this, but I am absolutely in!

Second, before the show, buy 300 packages of M&Ms. Cut them open, remove the candies, and replace them with laxatives. Then, as Stan is interviewing each contestant, his assistant will distribute the bags of "M&Ms". And the rest is history.

For added fun, put a sign on each bathroom of the studio that says, "Out of Order". Then watch the fun!

Sign me up. :)

I would just put the laxative tablets in a popcorn cart or a giant gumball machine.

Count me in!

I hope the audience likes having a year's supply of Ex-Lax....

Count me in!

I found this out on a recent trip to New Orleans. The late, great Louis Armstrong endorsed laxatives. As such, I would endorse the Ex-Lax as part of a Showcase that pays tribute to Satchmo. The prizes in order: a year's supply of Ex-Lax, jazz lessons for an instrument of the contestant's choice and a trip to New Orleans with a port of call for a Gulf of Mexico cruise.

I'm going to do this! I have not participated in this area of the forums since we were all doing Play Along games (I once gave away a Dodge Viper in 2 for the Price of 1!) and I think it's time to get back to the playing areas on the board!

Who knows? Maybe I'll win another game of Push Over?
Title: Re: The Gritty Reboot: gamesurf's Price is Right

I'm totally down to play.

For our sponsor situation, I would definitely play Vend O Price for a trip to the toliet museum in New Delhi, India with crates of the Ex-Lax as a bonus, then "clog" the bottom shelf with like 20 MORE packs of Ex-Lax for an easy win. So much branding in one segment, the sponsors wouldnt be able to hold in their...excitement :-D

And don't even try to tell me you don't get your laxative products from vending machines, I know I do.

Excited to have Host Your Own back and hope to be able to play!

As for the Ex-lax: I think the best way to "dump" it would be to give it away in... Secret X! Secret X-Lax anyone?

I’m in!

I’d do a winnings match - for each dollar in cash and prizes that a contestant wins, they win one Ex-Lax tablet. With some easy setups, it wouldn’t be too difficult to give them all away.

Post by: GameShowFan9001 on June 25, 2019, 12:23:21 AM
I'd like to play.

As for the Ex-Lax:
-every contestant and member of the audience gets a year supply of Ex-Lax
-winner of the showcase gets a LIFETIME supply of Ex-Lax delivered all at once to their door in a huge Ex-Lax truck; after the show, show a clip of said truck coming in and the driver opening the back to reveal a bunch of crates of Ex-Lax boxes, helping the contestant to move the crates into the contestant's house; extra points if the contestant happens to be in the bathroom at the time they receive their "prize"
-no option for anyone to decline their year/lifetime supply of "prizes"; in other words, the showcase winner will be forced to accept a lifetime supply of Ex-Lax

You know, I'll step in for this HYO, but what you don't know is that I've been on the phone with Fremantle, and this thing is going to be a reality.

I was going to PM Adam a rough recap to help him out, but since the secret is out, I may as just leak the whole episode.

Episode Number- 8806K
Original Tape Date: June 24th, 2019

Here it comes! From the famous Bob Barker Studio in Hollywood, it's The Price is Right!

Thomas Crapper, Come on Down!

Joseph Gayetty, Come on Down!
Samuel Prosser, Come on Down!

You are the first four contestants on today's special "5,000" episode on The Price is Right!

Just like on the April Fools' Day special in 2011, it is never stated what exactly the 5,000 stands for. Drew keeps hyping up something special happening, but nothing special happens.

Grocery Products:

16-count hot dogs
8 oz. dried banana chips
14 oz. white rice
6 oz. yogurt
10 oz. potato chips
Ex-Lax chocolates

$0.50 | $2.99 | $1.50

Crapshoot #1- Overshoots

Crapshoot #2- WIN!

Coming back from commercial break from Hole, instead of actually having gameplay, Drew does a 30-minute infomercial, detailing the miracles of Ex-Lax. We were given absolutely no time to do a special, so we could barely scrape off prizes we had in the homes of the staff. Either way, this is the first "half-hour" show in a few decades, since all the fans like a throwback.

Same! My first thought was, "Oh, gamesurf already started." Then I started reading saying to myself, "What kind of an HYO is this?" Then I got to the first IUFB, and it hit me.

But yes, great job, 9821!

Pulling out the big guns already! Hey Adam, at least least on this show you'll get a chance to place more than one bid.

And the Actual Retail Price of that credenza is….

$2,449! And TPIRfan#9821 is our winner! 9821, won’t you come up onstage with me!

9821, this is an historic moment. Never before have we had anybody on this show that’s leaked what was probably the highest-effort joke about laxatives on the Price is Right this board has ever seen. You truly are a LFaT--a Laxative Friend and True. I’ll bet you’ve been waiting two and a half years for this, haven’t you?

Well, your patience has been rewarded! We have an extremely innovative new prize waiting for you… what is it, Copy Crooner?

*cue Starcrossed* (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvenITVd6YY)

It’s the chance to skip waiting in lines for a whole year!

The average American will spend 2 to 5 years of their lifetime waiting in line. Why throw your life away? Forget waiting in line at airports or amusement parks... you’re too good for that!

From TaskRabbit, the online marketplace that matches freelance labor with local demand, you will be able to hire 300 hours of line waiters for any task of your choice! Movies, sporting events, the DMV… you’ll be able to hire a cheerful, professional line waiter that will hold your spot in any line at the rate of $25 an hour, freeing you up to enjoy more productive things!

This ethically questionable prize is valued at $7,500!

And that coveted prize will be yours if you can save the life of Johannes here. Now, Johannes is a young, wide-eyed, idealistic mountain climber who's set off to see the world.

Unfortunately, he's not very bright. He likes to hike more than he likes to think. In fact, if you don't stop him, he'll march right off the edge of that cliff! But you can save his life if you know something about these three prizes.

First, this 16 oz insulated water bottle is eco-friendly and 100% BPA free, so nobody’s going to confuse you with those filthy heathens who use that crinkly plastic garbage!

Next, learn all about Newton’s laws of motion with this STEM assembly kit! Build working models of windmills, cranes, and more! Appropriate for children ages 8 and up.

And finally, this easy-to-use food processor will absolutely decimate its contents, up to 3.5 cups at a time. Imagine the possibilities! Turn rolled oats into flour. Turn cream into butter. Turn the latest big-ticket electronic device into a clickbaity “will it blend” YouTube video!

Johannes can move 25 steps safely up this mountain. Tell me what you think is the price of the water bottle--and only the water bottle. Get as close as you can to the price--for every dollar your guess is off by, Johannes is going to take one step closer to his death!

Water bottles can get pricey, so I think I'll go $21.

Now, I think you’re in decent shape here, 9821. Johannes can move 12 steps up the mountain safely, meaning you can miss this last prize by as much as $12 one way or another. For all the marbles now… what is the cost of the food processor?

I'll cover the bases and assume that it is worth more than the STEM kit. I'll go $49.

If that's like a $65 compressor, I will be really angry that I waited in line for quite a few days only to lose the ability for someone else to wait in line.

And poor Adam is one-upped yet AGAIN. I’m starting to think you all have it out for him. You monsters. Anyways, the Actual Retail Price of that watch is…

$960! And PayingTheRent snags the watch and the right to come up on stage!

PayingTheRent, I have not one, not two, not three, not five, but FOUR wonderful prizes for you! Show ‘em, Voice Guy!

*cue Big Banana* (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XU7VtN6txmQ)

It’s a wonderful donut machine, a set of designer handbags, sturdy exercise equipment, and a 4K TV!

First, this automatic donut maker can shape, fry, and flip potentially hundreds of donuts an hour! Adjustable timers allow you to control the donut template and oil temperature in order to make perfect donuts, every time.

Next, from Coach, this collection of designer handbags will allow you to flaunt your affluence! Because we have no Australian male models, but we’ve still gotta get that sweet, sweet soccer mom demographic browsing the HYO forums somehow!

And, from Body-Solid, get in shape with this new exercise equipment! Or don’t. The choice is yours. “It’s okay to accept the donut maker,” you’ll tell yourself. “I can always work it off later.” HA! The true battle is not against your body. It’s against your mind. Anyways, this crossover machine includes two 160 lb. weight stacks.

Finally, a new TV! This 75” Vizio 4K TV will allow you to watch The Price is Right for hours on end! Although you’ll need a chromecast or something to hook a web browser up to it or something in order to watch this show. Anyways, back to you, ‘surf!

PayingTheRent, your name suggests you might be responsible with money. You might believe that financial liberation comes from living within your means and by not spending more than you receive. Perhaps you think it is wise to avoid debt except for essential reasons, such as to complete your education or for an affordable home. Maybe you think following a budget leads to personal economic freedom.

IGNORE THIS ADVICE! The key to happiness is to spend, spend, spend!

For example, if you can spend at least $5,000 in just three purchases, I’ll repay your extravagance by giving you all FOUR prizes!

On the other hand, if you stay within your budget, I’ll take it as a sign you didn’t really want to win those prizes, and your frugality will be punished. We don’t reward smart shoppers in this game. Only irresponsible ones.

What item will you choose first?

I completely disagree. That donut maker was very cheap in the show, and given the other three prizes on display, I think it's the one you should avoid, PTR.

$910. Well. That's a bit less than I was expecting, personally. PTR, I sure do hope this works out for you.

Peanut Gallery: Go the donut maker. You need something over $2,000.  Vizio tends to be a cheaper brand of TV, and that weight system doesn’t look over $2,000 at all. Besides, that donut maker looks industrial-grade, which would mean it is more expensive.

(I think both of those items are over $1,000, however, so I don’t know if you can win at this point. Hopefully one of those two items are dirt cheap?)
Title: Re: The Gritty Reboot: gamesurf's Price is Right - PG2

I feel like the coach stuff was a trap just waiting to be stepped on...

I’d suggest going with the TV though since it’s 75 inches.
Title: Re: The Gritty Reboot: gamesurf's Price is Right - PG2

Both times I’ve had a chance to continue playing, I was pulled away for something. Busy weekend it was. :P

And damn.

I really thought that donut maker was the trap.  Hmm...

Well, I guess I’ll take a stab at it anyway.  In the interest of speeding things back up, I’ll go ahead and make both of my next selections.

Let’s go with the exercise machine and the donut maker.  Visio televisions are generally pretty cheap, so hopefully that holds up in their 75 inch category, as well.
Title: Re: The Gritty Reboot: gamesurf's Price is Right - IUFB3
Post by: gamesurf on July 01, 2019, 03:24:52 PM
The peanut gallery is divided, but he seems to think the TV is cheapest. PTR, I've got my fingers crossed!

What is the price of the exercise machine?

Oh, wow. That's a bigger dent in your budget, but not by much. How much left does he have to spend?

PTR, you've saved the donut maker for last, I hope you're going for a dramatic finish here. Because if that donut maker is worth more than $2,871, you're going to be taking home all four prizes. Show.... us... the... price!

*BUZZ!*
*losing horns play*

Oh! Ouch. PTR, I'm sorry. It turns out you were unable to succumb to your materialistic urges, and you're more responsible with money than you give yourself credit for.

What was the price of the TV?

So it turns out the handbags were the ones to avoid.  The TV with the gym and the donut maker would have put you over. You went from least expensive to most expensive--a winning strategy in some games, perhaps, but not in this one.

Can we bounce back and make this a 2-out-of-3 show? Stay tuned. More after this announcement!

Hoo boy, do we have a prize for you! Show him, Voice Man!

A NEW CAR!!!

*cue Passing Lane* (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IhG290mpwM)

The 2019 Honda Fit EX! Comes with standard equipment plus 1.5 liter four cylinder engine, remote start, moonroof visor, and door edge guards. The Honda Fit!

And you can win it playing Cover Up!

A cover up is a concerted effort to keep illegal or unethical actions from becoming known. That definition has nothing to do with this game!

We see a price of $99,999 on that car. That claim of $99,999 was…uh, a slight exaggeration. We don’t know anything about how any of those numbers got there, and we absolutely would never try to inflate our prize values for accounting purposes. That would be extremely illegal!

So we’ve gotta do something about fixing that before our audit. Wait! Why don’t you help us by doing it for us?

Every single number in that price is wrong and needs to be corrected. Cover up the first digit with a two or a one. Cover up the second digit with a seven, eight, or zero. Cover up the third digit with four, seven, two, or six. And so on, and so on.

If you’re right, and you’re able to restore the actual price, you will win the car! And if you’re not… well, we don’t want that to happen. None of us want to be the subject of a fraud investigation, right? Cause let’s just say, if we’re going down, you’re going down with us.

Ready, Adam? Cover up!

Peanut gallery: $28k+ is the best guess you could make.  The 2 covers the case that it's $20,000+, and the 8 covers the case that it's $18,000+.  I can tell you though that the Fit EX is not gonna be $17,000 anything, so you should be guaranteed to get exactly one of the first two digits right and get a guaranteed third guess.

Man, it's a good thing you didn't make it out of Contestant's Row; S&P wouldn't have liked that you didn't turn in your phone before the taping,ya cheater :P

Peanut Gallery: I would personally guess $10,xxx to begin with. I doubt a Honda Fit is $27k+, so this forces you to get exactly one of the first two numbers right, which gives you at least two more chances to get the price right.

If I were to take a one-shot guess, I'd go either $18,254 or $17,744, since I feel that the options somehow add up with something ending with a 9 plus something ending in a 5. The former is the smallest $18,xx4 value you can get without repeating a digit, while $17,744 is just a jerk move due to two pairs of repeating digits, and I feel like this setup falls in one of those two categories.

Adam, the good news is that you have four numbers right. The bad news is you're missing the tens digit. I'll give you one more shot--cover up the tens digit with either a five, two, four, or one. If you can pick the correct digit on this turn, you're a winner!

He's set a price of $18,627 for the car. If you're correct, you'll be driving out of here in that beautiful automobile. Otherwise, you'll have to walk home.

For a car...

Is...

that...

the...

right...

price?

*BUZZ!*

*cue losing horns*

Oh! Oh! I'm so sorry, Adam. You had such a strong start. All that hype for it to end so swiftly.

What was the right price?

Hey! That guy at the green podium would have gotten it first try! Turns out your buddies in Contestants' Row weren't so bad after all... :-(

Folks, we'll be back with our fabulous showcases right after this!

Hey! That guy at the green podium would have gotten it first try!

Not anymore, gamesurf! I am now a proud member of the First Four Breakfast Club!

Oh, *ahem*, my car, please.  ;)

Before we begin our showcase round, those of us at the show would like to pay tribute to some of those who are no longer with us.

*cue the piano coda from “Layla”* (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLUZ5prTcXk)

*Clips of various retired pricing games are shown in a brief montage. Each retired game is followed by a “what happened to them?” segment.*

*The Step-Up arrow has been repurposed as the first traffic light in a small town in rural Arizona, while the Credit Card ATM has been purchased by the Bank of America. The Hit Me playing cards are entertaining senior citizens at a retirement home in Reno, and Clearance Sale's price tags have never stayed in one place for long, travelling from Sears, to K-Mart, to Toys R Us, to Macy's, and are currently employed at Barnes and Noble. The Professor Price puppet has finally been discovered in New York City—frozen solid in the back of a meat truck.*

Contestants not appearing onstage will receive…

A supply of Sea-Bond denture adhesive! No mess, no ooze, and creates a tighter seal than the leading competitor. Bye bye, ooze. Hello, Sea-Bond!

And, a telephone from the Invention Submission Corporation. Inventors, ISC can help you patent your idea and submit it to companies. If you’re the sort of person who falls for these scams, you’re probably also the sort of person who still uses a landline telephone. Call 1-800-288-IDEA!

And now, here’s gamesurf with our Showcases!

Thank you, Prince of Pronunciation! With his bee-YOO-ti-ful playing of Cliff Hangers, the biggest winner of the show so far is TPIRfan#9821! And PayingTheRent, thirsting from redemption from those tricky handbags, is the runner-up!

PTR and 9821, each of you will be shown a terrific showcase filled with thousands of dollars of wonderful prizes. The one of you who bids nearer to the actual retail price of your own showcase will win it. But if you are the winner, and you are $250 or less away from the retail price of your own showcase, you will win both showcases!

Pay close attention to this first showcase, because it could go to either one of you. Good luck!

*cue Splendido* (https://youtu.be/wwz41EQ2Mds?t=6)

This showcase contains prizes revealed as we discover things that are washed up!

First, we have this load of dirty laundry. Gross! Where can these go be washed up? How about the laundry room…where we find a handy washer and dryer!

From Samsung, this ultra-quiet washer/dryer combo contains five spin settings, is compatible with Amazon Alexa, and can sync with your smartphone to give you alerts!

Next, we have this stack of of dirty dishes. Uh oh! Where can these go be washed up? How about in the dishwasher… of your new kitchen!

From Bosch, this ultra-quiet dishwasher features adjustable racks, six wash cycles, digital controls, and a stainless steel design. Plus, this stainless steel refrigerator stores your favorite foods at your favorite temperatures. Features humidity controlled bins, LED lighting, and ice maker. And this stainless steel electric oven has fast preheat and digital controls. Microwave included!

Finally, we’ll follow artists once youthful now milking their name for stacks of cash. Eww! Where can they go be washed up? Well, you’ll be able to see aging rock stars about to enter their fifth decade of touring…when you accompany Metallica on their world tour!

*Splendido continues*

You and a guest will follow geriatric rock band Metallica for seven days through the Australian leg of their “Worldwired” tour! You’ll fly coach nonstop from Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia, for a two night stay at the Crown Towers Melbourne, following which you will fly coach Melbourne to Sydney, Australia for a two night stay at the Shanghai-La Hotel Sydney, and finally fly coach to Brisbane, Australia, for a two night stay at the Brisbane Marriott Hotel before heading home. You’ll also receive a pair of premium tickets to Metallica concerts at all three stops, plus one backstage meet-and-greet!

And this showcase, which contains prizes revealed as we discover things that are washed up, can be yours if The Price is Right!

9821, as the top winner, you get the option. Do you want to bid on this showcase, or do you want to pass it to PayingTheRent and bid on Showcase #2?

Metallica? If I took this showcase, I'd never be able to wash the bad taste out of my mouth. That's a hard pass.

Watch as the second showcase has something even worse.

Very well. PayingTheRent, that's your showcase! What do you bid on it?

(Also, a slight correction to the prize copy--the hotel you'll be staying at in Sydney is the Shangri-la Hotel Sydney, not the Shanghai-la Hotel Sydney. We will have our copy editors spayed and neutered.)

Those poor copy editors...  :-o

If it pleases the host, I’d like to sing my bid to the tune of “Enter Sandman.”

(chorus)
Price is RIGHT
Bid I MIGHT
Take my bid
I’m gonna bid 18 grand

$18,000 for PayingTheRent. TPIRfan#9821, take a look at your showcase!

*cue Every Room In The House* (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n13Sas6JooQ)

This showcase includes something for every generation in the house!

First, generation Z, or the post-millennials. Generation Z loves games, hyperactive visuals, competition, and instant gratification. Get them off their phones and playing outside… on your new inflatable Twister set!

Jump-start the ultimate party with this heavy-duty inflatable Twister set! Combine the game that ties you up in knots with the toy that launches you into the air! Comes with air blower, spinner, repair kit, and durable packing bag. Insurance waivers not included!

Next, the boomers! With their strong, self-assured work ethic and focus on independence and self-reliance, Boomers are ready to hand to the world off to a new generation and retire… in their new mobility scooters!

Mow down anyone who gets in your way with this pair of all terrain 4 wheel mobility scooters! Assert your independence at a top speed of 12 mph! Each scooter supports up to 350 lbs and can run for up to 28 miles on a single charge! A single spin will have you singing “You made me love you!”

And who could ever forget the millennials? Market research says that millennials are hyper-focused on educational opportunities and self-improvement. Tell them to unplug from the Internet and spend some time reading books… like the kind that would fit in this elegant bookcase!

This wooden bookcase features rich, ornate details and contains an adjustable and removable ladder rail system, four shelves, three drawers, and museum-style pilaster to fit in any corner! No wifi connection needed. Good luck finding an apartment where you can fit this in on a millennial’s salary, though.

And finally, Generation X. Cynical, challenging, and anti-establishment, now they’ve grown up and are ready to have the world at their fingertips. What place in the world would best represent that? How about wonderful...Bulgaria!!!

You and a guest will fly round trip coach from Los Angeles to Sofia, Bulgaria, for a 6 night stay in the Central Hotel Sofia. Recently ranked 144 in overall happiness out of 156 countries, you’ll visit the capital of Bulgaria in the overall heart of the Slavic Republic. Wracked by economic struggles less than a decade ago, you’ll come to love the cynical yet pragmatic culture in your brief visit here! And we’ve included a private tour of nearby ruins of the ancient Roman Empire, as a reminder that even the most impressive among us have a fleeting existence in our time on this Earth.

What a wonderful showcase! 9821, what do you bid on that?

I am a proud "Gen Z"er...and I'm already receiving denture cream. Dagnabbit! But what in the world is that thing? Inflatable Twister...looks fun, but I couldn't even win playing on level ground!

#9821, I'd go with $20,020. I'm hoping that Bulgaria is at least $10K., and those scooters look pretty expensive.
Title: Re: The Gritty Reboot: gamesurf's Price is Right - SHOWCASES
Post by: TPIRfan#9821 on July 04, 2019, 10:42:03 AM
^I agree with you, but I honestly feel that the scooters and Bulgaria alone would total up to a bit less $20k. I get the bouncy thing is going to be worth maybe $1k, but if that bookcase is nice, I'd expect it to be $6k-$7k.

I'll bid $26,666.

For a difference of...

*DING!*

$5,999. This means, TPIRfan#9821, that if your bid is closer than $5,999 without going over, you'll win your showcase. You had an assortment of things including a giant twister board and a trip to Bulgaria, and bid $26,666 on it. Devilish. 9821, the Actual Retail Price of your showcase IS!

9821, I'm sorry, you're over!

POSTMORTEM

Thanks everybody, for your participation! Thank you especially to those of you in the audience that were able to bring that special heckling dynamic to life. I hope you had as much fun playing and watching the show as I did putting it together!

Winners:
PayingTheRent: $24,959
TPIRfan#9821: $10,065
tpiradam: $610
PatrickRox80, DarkShockBro, tpir04: $250
Everybody else: Laughs and good times

Showcase 1 breakdown:
Washer/Dryer combo: $3,998
Dishwasher: $1,899
Refrigerator: $2,999
Oven/Microwave: $4,899
Metallica Australia Trip: $10,804

Showcase 2 breakdown:
Inflatable Twister: $1,030
Mobility Scooters: $13,578
Bookcase: $4,100
Bulgaria: $1,700 (not a typo! Flight for two was $1,374, the tour was $265, and the hotel was a whopping $61. Not $61 per night--$61 total. Bulgaria is one of the cheapest destinations in Europe)

As you may have guessed, Cliff Hangers had an anti 20-30-40 trick, designed to get Hans up the mountain somewhat but still be winnable. Shopping Spree was set up to be lost--the bags are some of Coach's cheapest products, and the margin between the lowest and second lowest priced products was a whopping $289. Cover Up was the most winnable of the lot and didn't have any particular trick to it besides "no 9's in the price"--just bad luck on Adam's part he got four out of five on his first try.

Once again, thank you for making this show great! You can plan for a lot of things in these shows, but you can't plan for a great audience, and thank you for your comments and participation helping bring it to life. Til next time--so long!
