Title: Jordan's Price is Right: Episode 2 -- SHOW OVER
Post by: Jordan7 on May 19, 2006, 11:29:34 PM
Our last episode was fairly good. Five games were won, but the big ticket prize in Golden Road was lost. Only $121,522 was won out of a possible $291,521. So we lost more than half of the prizes offered last show. Hopefully we can do better this show.

If you would like to play, just say so here, and when you are called to come on down, I will PM you, but that will be the only time I will PM you. After that, you're on your own. You will have 30 hours for everything. If you miss the deadline twice in the row, miss once in the showcase showdown, miss once while playing a pricing game, or miss once in the showcase, you're gone. If you know that you will not be here at a specific time, please don't hesitate to inform me about it.

The show is expected to start Monday night after Deal or No Deal, at about 9:00 PM Eastern Time. So simply sign up by then! Good luck, and have fun!

Rich: Here it comes, from the Golden-Road.net forums, it's the internet's most exciting month of fantastic prizes: the fabulous 43,200-minute Price is Right!

Jordanar18, come on down!

JayC, come on down!

goldroadfanatic, come on down!

And sternal, come on down! You are the first four contestants on The Price is Right! And now, here is the star of The Price is Right, Jordan7!

*Jordan7 enters through the big doors, and receives mic from Lanisha*

Welcome to The Price is Right! I thank you so very much for that wonderful welcome. Let's get started with the first item up for bids of the day!

Rich: It's a fitness bike! The Fitnexx R70 recumbent bicycle provides a great workout for even the most physically challenged. Adjustable features make it a handy piece of exercise equipment. (B)

And that bike will go to the one of you who bids nearest to the actual retail price without going over. Bid in dollars please, because we round our prices to the nearest dollar. And sternal, you get the first bid of the day!

All right, I will bid $1999.
Title: Re: Jordan's Price is Right: Episode 2 -- IUFB #1

I'll go with $1,499.

sternal: $1000
goldroadfanatic: $1999
JayC: $1499

First warning for Jordanar18. And I have no idea why goldroadfanatic edited his reply 7 times or so. But if you want to change your bid, you need to make another reply stating you'd like to change it, and make your bid. I'm not accusing him of cheating, but let that be a warning to all of you.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

And that sound means that someone has given a perfect bid! You know that $500 is awarded for a perfect bid, right? Oh, of course you know! Actual retail price.....

$1999, goldroadfanatic is the winner! Our first pricing game of the day is up at the turntable. Stand right there. Now, first, I will hand you your five one-hundred dollar bills. Now, what else can goldroadfanatic win?

Rich: First, we have a set of sledding equipment. A set of sleds and tobbogans from Paricon. Have hours of fun sledding down the snowy and slushy hills around your town during the winter. (S)

Then, we have a wonderful trip to Canada! We'll fly you and a guest round-trip coach from Los Angeles to Montreal, Canada for a six-night stay at the Sheraton Hotel. Located in the heart of Montreal, enjoy the giant ice sculptures and the national hockey team. (L & R)

It's a Permutation prize package worth $5606!

That's right. Your game is Permutation. Take a look here.

All you have to do is pick the three cards that you think total the price of the sleds and toboggans. I will tell you that the price is between $500 and $1000. If you guess wrong on the first try, don't worry. You'll get two chances more after that. Now get to work!

Very well. I forgot to mention that it is between $500 and $1000. Now, goldroadfanatic says that the snow stuff is $850. Is he right?

bonk!

No, but it is lower than $850. So go ahead and make another guess.

bonk!

No it isn't. But! It's lower than $650, and you have one guess left. Remember, it's between $500 and $1000, so your choices are either $500, $550, or $600. Which will it be?

goldroadfanatic now has a price of $600. If this is correct, you are on your way to Montreal! Is the right price $600?

Oh no, I'm sorry it isn't! Show us the right price please.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Wow! Two perfect bids in a row! I don't know the last time that happened on the real show, but I'll tell you one thing I do know: I'm running out of $500 wads for you guys. Hopefully there will be no more perfect bids, not that I don't want you to bid good anymore. Anyway, the bonus goes to the person who bid.....

$1080, that's JayC! We're going to the giant price tag for the next game. First JayC, here is your five-hundred dollars. Now, Rich, do we have something nice for him to win?

Rich: Sure do, it's a new car! It's a Chevy Impala LS. Comes with standard equipment and paint sealant, a Chevy Impala! (B)

That car will be in your garage if you win Pocket Change.

May we see the first number in the price of the car please?

ding!

It's a 2, which means that vehicle is worth over $20,000! Let me also point out that price tag by the lovely Brandi over there.

We will sell you that car for a measly 25! Also, I have this for you.

That's right, an envelope that has 25 as well! If you can play this perfectly, you won't have to do anything else to win the car. You'll be guessing each number one at a time until you get it right. For every wrong guess, the price of the car will go up a quarter. For every right guess, you will get to pick an envelope off the board.

Right now, I'd like you to tell me what you think the second number is.

It isn't. Brandi, would you raise that price please?

There we go. I know this slows down gameplay, but it looks weird putting two images in one post with only one sentence of words in between. Plus, this way, I can also re-light the numbers that were guessed but were wrong.

Good luck to you. That first envelope I gave you had a quarter, remember?

And that goes onto the board.

ding!

Now the price of the car is only 75, which isn't bad, so you only need half a dollar to win. Let's start opening these envelopes. In the first one, you have.....

Nothing! You stay at 25.

bonk!

That's okay, we've still got three envelopes left. In the next one, there is.....

A dime. That gives you 35.

ding!

Slowly getting there. The third envelope you picked off the board has.....

A quarter! That gives you.....

ding!

60! Now this is looking pretty good. There are only two other envelopes on the board that have nothing in them, and I believe that 5 of them have a dime, which gives you a 7 out of 16 chance of losing, which is pretty good. The odds are in your favor, as I look into this final envelope.....

And find.....

That inside this envelope.....

That I'm about to open.....

You have.....

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

The $2.00 card! You picked it on your final choice, congratulations! You didn't even need the other envelopes to win! What a great ending! Enjoy that car also! We'll see if we can find another winner right after this!

And.....nothing. I was hoping we'd have three perfect bids in a row, but I guess not. Actual retail price.....

$799, Futuregsh, you win! With that one-upping strategy, you've just won your way up on stage to play the last pricing game of the first half. And now if you follow me back to the big doors, we can get started. Now Futuregsh, we already gave away a car this half, but I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with what he have for you behind this door! Tell him Rich!

Rich: Futuregsh, you now have a chance to win $10,000!

Yes, $10,000 cash! I will not lie to you. Hopefully you can win all of that moolah playing Half Off!

Now, we have 16 boxes here. One of those 16 boxes has $10,000 in it! If you can pick out that box, it's all yours! To improve your chances of winning, since there are 15 other boxes with nothing in them, I'm going to show you two prizes. One of them has the right price on it, but the other has a price that is half off. If you can tell me which price is half off, we'll get rid of half the boxes, and your chance of picking the box with the cash will be much easier. Then we'll do that two more times, so if you can pick the product that is half off all three times, only two boxes will remain in play! How exciting is that? I hope so. We're not playing around here. Let's get started! Rich, please tell us about the first pair of products.

Rich: When you're bored and you want a fun game to play with your friends or relatives, play the 20 Questions board game from Sharper Image. (R)

This desktop arcade game features a score readout, so you can keep track of how well you do. Hours of fun for any kid. (L)

Now look at those two prices. The board game is marked at $10, and the arcade game is marked at $35. Tell me which one of those is half off, and we'll take away half of the boxes. And better yet, you'll win both of those prizes.

He says that the board game is half off Rachel. Is he right?

ding!

That is correct! Take away half of the boxes!

As you can see, there are only 8 boxes left in play still. But we can get rid of half of those boxes with these two products! Go ahead Rich.

If you need to get up early in the morning and are afraid of oversleeping, set your alarm with this stylish Hummer alarm clock. (R)

Listen to your favorite programs with this solar radio from Sun-Mate. The AM and FM bands keep you in touch with news, weather, sports, and music. It's small size makes it easy to store and let's you take it anywhere. When fully charged the radio will play for over 50 hours. (L)

Which product is half off this time. Is the clock really $60, or is the radio really $60? Tell me the right one, and we'll take away half the boxes!

ding!

It is! Please remove half of the boxes!

There are only 4 boxes left in play. And guess what? We can get rid of half of them again, with these two products!

After you take a shower, dry your hair using the SuperSonic hair dryer. It will dry your hair in minutes. (R)

If you're going someplace and want to look nice, and don't want any wrinkles in whatever you're wearing, flatten them out with this steam iron. (L)

The hair dryer is marked $13. The iron is marked at $24. Which one is half off?

I used random.org to generate the box the cash is in, so if it is in 11, then it is just a complete coincidence. But anyway, we don't want it to be in 11 because you chose box 10, and the lovely Rachel is bringing it over right now.

Thank you. Now, you are going to get behind this box, and when is say 1, 2, 3, now, you lift open that box, and if it has that cash in it, it will spread all over the floor! Ooh, I hope it's here! What an exciting way to end the first half of the show! Are you ready?

1...

2...

3...

Now!

dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!

There it is! You've got the money, and we'll see you at the big wheel right after this!

***

With me for the first showdown, I have JayC, I have Futuregsh, and I also have goldroadfanatic. They are all ready to spin the big wheel! If you get $1.00 in one spin, or a combination of two spins, you win $1000 and a bonus spin. In the bonus spin, if the wheel lands on one of the two green sections, you win $5000 more. But if it stops on $1.00 in your bonus spin, you win $10,000 more, for a total of $11,000! Also, the one of you nearest to $1.00 without going over will advance to the showcase at the end of the show, where you can win thousands of dollars more!

JayC, you've earned the most during the first half, so you get to go last. Then Futuregsh will spin second, and goldroadfanatic has the honor of spinning first. When you are ready, step up to the wheel, and give me two numbers 1-20.

Post by: Mallory16 on June 10, 2006, 10:24:58 AM
Bah.  I don't like making things random that don't have to be.  My philosophy:  if Roger can seed, so can I.  So while things like showcase showdown spins and Dice Game rolls are completely random on my part, things like Half Off cash box/elimination order and Punch a Bunch slips are 100% not random on my part.  Course, there's nothing wrong with making it random.  Just not my cup of tea.

Okay, goldroadfanatic has made his way to under the scoreboard, and now Futuregsh is already spinning. And look at this! He may have a dollar!

Nope! 90 is pretty good on any other day, but not today, as you need a nickel to tie. And he's spinning again. Hey! Could he possibly get the dime for a dollar? Hurry! Hurry! Hurry!

BONK!

Ooh, so close! You should have put a few more cheerios in your cereal this morning. You couldn't have gotten any more worse luck than that, I'm sorry. Thank you for playing though, and enjoy that cash.

Okay JayC, give it a spin!

Hey, it's coming up on that 95! Slow down! Nope.

That is also a good score on any other day, but you need a dime to tie, and that 15 to guarantee a spot in the showcase, and get a bonus spin. Hey! Here comes that dime again! Will it pay off for JayC?

BONK!

You went over as well. But you did win a car, so don't feel too sad. And goldroadfanatic, you will be in the showcase at the end of the show! If you guys out there would like a chance to come on down, here's Rich to tell you how.

Rich: If you'd like to be a contestant on Jordan's Price is Right: Episode 3, just go to www.golden-road.net, log in to your account if you haven't done so yet, click on "Forums", and then click on "Host Your Own". Then go to the thread called "Jordan's Price is Right: Episode 3--SIGN UPS," click on it, and reply with "I'll play". It's that easy. Okay, Jordan!

Welcome to contestant's row! Now, check out the next item up for bids.

Rich: It's some tennis equipment. Take your tennis skills to the court with the set of his and hers tennis equipment from Dunlop. It includes rackets, cases for your rackets, and a bunch of tennis balls. (S)

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Another perfect bid! With only two people bidding, what are the chance of that happening. Do I even need to say that $500 goes to the perfect bidder anymore? Hopefully not. Anyway, $500 goes to the person who bid.....

$650, it's edmojautis! We're going all the way back to the big doors. First, I'll hand you your $500 bonus. Now, if you look right next to me, Rachel is standing here with something. Rich tell us about it please.

Rich: To work out our arms for stonger muscles, use this set of chrome dumbells from Ivanko. (R)

And in addition to that, you can win what we have behind this door!

Rich: A new spa, a handy safe, a comfy chair, and a new computer!

First, from Comfort Line Products, this spa-in-a-box is the easy, affordable way to enjoy a soothing spa experience anywhere, anytime. It sets up in about 20 minutes and plugs into a regular household outlet.
(B)

Next, the Heritage freestanding safe. Lock away all of your important things in this safe, with a bank style combination lock, and it's 14-karat gold 5-point legacy handle.

Third, relax and read a book in this Palecek south island lounge chair. Features include a wood and rattan hand-rubbed finish and beautifully woven seagrass panels.
(L)

Finally, this Dell pentium computer has a 500GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, photo software, and a color printer. And there they are Jordan.

Alright edmojautis, you're about to play another new game, called Prizeword. Take a look here.

As you can see, there is a row of numbers missing. Those are the numbers in the price of the dumbells, which you must find out, but they also complete the prices of the other prizes, which correspond by color. So the red question mark is the first number in the price of the dumbells, and also the missing digit in the spa. Also, each digit only appears once. So, all you have to do is get the four numbers right before you get three numbers wrong.

Just call out a number 0-9. You don't have to worry about where that digit goes.

You needed a 6 and a 3. The dumbells were $1063. I hope you had fun, and if either one of those numbers were your next guess, then another prize could have been yours. We'll see you later at the showcase showdown, and we'll see you right after this.

Rich: It's a new car! The Pontiac Vibe, a fuel efficient car with unforgettable performance. It comes with standard equipment, plus automatic transmission, appearance package, anti-lock brakes and fabric protectant, a Pontiac Vibe! (L)

sternal, take a look here.

That car is not $28,392! Each digit is one away from the right number. So the first number is either 1 or 3, the second 7 or 9, and so on. Tell me what you think the price of that car is, and if you're right, you win the car!

$1349, and the winner is jhc2010! We're going to the turntable for today's last pricing game. Now, you just saw we gave away a car. Sadly, I don't have another one for you, but I'm sure you'll be happy with this prize.

Rich: It's a relaxing sauna! The Great Lakes collection presents this almost heaven barrel sauna, which can be assembled in just a few hours, and can stand freely indoors or outdoors. Features include a tinted and tempered glass door, and low humidity, for high temperatures. Accessories include a wall-mount thermometer and light, and a towel rack. Long lasting durability from Great Lakes! A terrific prize worth $5245! (R)

I hope you are a good shopper jhc2010, because we're playing Super Saver!

You want to save at least $1.00 in four purchases. Each product is marked with a price that is below the actual price of the product, with the exception of one, which is marked higher than the actual price. Even if you pick that one, it is still mathmatically possible for you to win this game. What are the products today Rich?

Rich: Well Jordan, first we have a bag of Purina cat chow, the healthy way for your cat to eat.

Second, Mylanta classic. Fast, soothing relief plus great taste accompany this remedy.

Moving along, a 28 oz. can of Bruce's yams. These sweet potoatoes are cut and then drizzled in light syrup for a great taste that goes good with any special dinner.

Next, some malted milk from Carnation. It makes the greatest malted milks and milkshakes. Sprinkle it on your ice cream, or put it in cookies or muffins.

Then, a 2 oz. jar of Blue Star ointment. No more itching or skin irritation once you use this.

Finally, Goya yellow rice, a tasty treat that goes good with chicken. And there they are Jordan.

Alright, jhc2010, tell me where you would like to start. Try and find products that seem very low.

$1.60 worth of savings! Excellent job! Showcase showdown number two coming up.

***

With me I have edmojautis, Madonna, and sternal. Also, the one of you nearest to $1.00 without going over will advance to the showcase right after this.

sternal, you've earned the most this half, so you get to go last. Madonna spins second, and edmojautis gets to spin first. To spin, give two numbers between 1 and 20.

Alright, Madonna, step up to the wheel now, and give me 2 numbers as well. Also say how much you would want to spin again at (e.g. spin again if 60 or less).

Man! Luck was not on anyone's side this time. Thank you for playing sternal, and enjoy that automobile you won. And Madonna! You are going to the showcase right after this announcement!

***

Madonna, you are the top winner in today's showcase! goldroadfanatic, you are the runner-up! Each of you will have a showcase filled with beautiful prizes to bid on, and the one of you closer to the actual retail price of your own showcase without going over will win it. But if you are the winner, and are $250 or less away from the actual retail price of your own showcase, we will give you both showcases!

Now Madonna, as the top winner, you have the option of either bidding on the first showcase, or passing that to goldroadfanatic, and waiting for the second one. Let's see the first showcase please!

Rich: This showcase features our model, Lanisha, talking to Brandi about why she is tired. For instance, she says that she has been unable to sleep because her lumpy old mattress is too uncomfortable. So Brandi says "Why not go out and buy a new bed?" The 100th anniversary bedroom group from the Broyhill collection is everything you've wanted in a bedroom. Contemporary design, beautiful finish, and everlasting comfort from Broyhill. Plus, a new sleep set. The Comfortaire Royal Duchess sleep set provides a good night's sleep, and beauty for your bed! (R)

Next, Lanisha tells Brandi that she has not taken a vacation in over six months, and says that she has been working overtime to pay for a trip to Australia! You and a guest will fly round-trip coach from Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia for a six-night stay in a luxury hotel with accomodations. Enjoy sites like Sydney Harbor, and everything else down under in beautiful Australia! (S)

Finally, Lanisha states that her muscles hurt from bending up and down cleaning every room in her house. So Brandi tells her to relax in her new spa! The Master Cape Cod spa, big enough to hold 8 adults, with power jets and other adjustable features such as temperature control. (R)

And this showcase where Lanisha confesses her problems to Brandi as to why she is tired, can be yours if The Price is Right!

And Madonna, will this be your showcase, or goldroadfanatic's?

This set of picnic equipment can store all of your drinks, lunches, and snacks. Each basket has a beautiful stitched design on them and has a handle for easy carrying. Picnics never seemed so fun and easy! (B)

Next, Spring is the time where things are in bloom. But these also stay in bloom for the summer. It's a collection of flowers! A 12 month supply of Big Island Tropical Flowers, bursting with color from the big island of Hawaii. These flowers make great gifts for family and friends, or plant them around your house, courtesy of Big Island Tropicals! (L)

Finally, another thing you can do in the summer is drive to the beach with the top down on your new convertible! It's the Ford Mustang convertible, a stylish car that comes with standard equipment, plus automatic transmission and perimeter alarm system, the Ford Mustang! (S)

And this showcase bringing you things to do in the summer can be yours if The Price is Right!
