Nice win in Any Number. Not much in the piggy bank today: $4.03. And I didn’t expect the smartphone package price to end in 1.

Time is Money! One of my favorite games! I kept saying “No…No…No…” because the contestant kept the antiseptic spray off the $6 & up pad and/or left at least one pad unoccupied.

Drew still being called Bob by a contestant 14 years or so after the latter retired. :-)

I would never choose the top number in the fifth column of numbers in Cover Up. Some people can’t even reach it comfortably.

Neat to see the picture-in-picture with Bob and a younger Kenneth during the second Showcase Showdown. And as Mr. Barker would say, “You win BOTH showcases!”. Excellent bid near the end of the show. :)

A DSW 33 years later. What a comeback.

Just can't imagine why the contestant waited until his very last guess to put the relief spray on the over $6 table. I was surprised that only the one product was in the middle though.

Ultimate redemption for Kenneth getting a DSW on his second time on the show! Also really nice to get to see a few seconds of his original appearance.

Genuine question that we probably don't have a definitive answer to: what is the record for most DSW in one season?
(Proof the audience gives bad advice?)

Didn't we have 10 or 11 DSWs in one season a while back?
Title: Re: TPiR Recap - 5/28/2021

There were 10 DSW's in Season 39, according to the DSW database.

I don't think the reason for his bid made it to air. Interesting tweet.

"Kenneth is back after spinning $1 on the show years ago with Bob! He uses his anniversary – July 3rd- to add in $703 to his showcase bid. Just watch how it turns out... "

Switch: Great way to start a Friday Show
Any Number: Nice Win
Time is Money: So nobody seems to be playing this game right but I never played it irl so...
Coming or Going: It's Coming home with a prize, Going on a trip but after a recent playing with a trip I think this hidden rule is gone now
Cliff Hangers: The ol 20-30-40 Would also have won but with less steps due to Nailing $20
Cover Up: Well Great Start not a great finish

Showcase: Well we got DSW number 7

Great win for Kenneth! Wonder if he'll be back in 2054. :-)

One thing I noticed since he's so tall, they raised his podium microphone for contestant's row. But... the contestants this season wear lapel mikes. So the podium mikes are just for show because the audience "expects" to see them and they're just that committed to making it look real?

For that matter, Drew is wearing a lapel mike in addition to his wireless mike.

Does anyone have the exact date when Kenneth's first appearance was? How did he do the first time around?

With that said, nice DSW! :D

Drew has worn a lapel mic ever since his debut. Bob never wore one until his Drew-era guest appearances.

The contestants have been wearing lapel mics since 2012 or so. Normally, they're not put on until the first break after they're called down, so none of the first four ever had mics until PG2, and the ninth player called wouldn't get one unless they ended up proceeding to SCSD2.

But yes, now that there is a limited number of contestants backstage, everyone has a mic from the moment they come out, so the podium mics aren't necessary. The Showcase podium mics were never necessary since they began putting mics on contestants, since anyone in the SCSD and SC had a mic by then.

Time Is Money: That was a ROUGH setup.   I was sure the relief spray was $6 and up.   The other four, I was stumped!

Not sure when his exact date was, but it was sometime between mid-March and after the elections in the same year, as mentioned elsewhere (date range was based off of the upgrades to the Big Wheel and the Turntable).  I'm pretty sure that it'll come up.  As for his first appearance he did pretty good at least with his SCSD performance from his first run.  Not sure what was next but I don't think it was as good as things were this episode

I have to think we're at the record or even broke it already, I also wonder how close this season is to the record for most double overbids in the Showcases since there's been several of those this season also.
