Anyone notice that when Drew introduced bonkers to Dane, It seems that bonkers was messed up. The lights where those magnetic pod thingies go were blinking on & off uncontrollably, and neither Drew nor Dane noticed. When Dane won, the lights got messed up again, and nobody said anything.

I thought Jena was funny, because she said that she was afraid that she was going to lose. I loved her reaction when she won!

I noticed that as well, but I don't think it had that much of an impact on the outcome of the game.

Yeah. I know it most certainly didn't have anything to do with the outcome of the game, but what a great win!

Literally, if they swapped out Bonkers for Switch? or 1 Right Price, 3 Strikes could have been played today for the Pontiac Solstice.  Heck, quite a few multi-prize games and other lengthy games, be it grocery, small prize, or car ones, could have been played today.  I really wonder what Adam was thinking when drawing this one up.

The GPS system in Any Number must be the cheapest 3-digit prize in that game in years, and possibly ever in the 36+ years it has been on the show.  Only a mere $270?  Even Poker Game offered nicer prizes for Pete's sake!

Personally, I thought that there would be the possibility of a technical win in Bonkers when I saw the lights flashing irregularly.  It was awesome to see Dane win on the very first try.  That is the second time that has happened this season and we're up to 3 wins to 6 losses for the season.  Although Drew was wrong about it being a "world record."  Isn't the record for Bonkers like two or three seconds, set on one of the Barker-era MDS's?

I don't know how often it is in Pick-a-Pair that we see one item from each of the pairs in the game.  We saw one of the $4.49, $2.29, and $3.39 items.  What's even more interesting is that the dollars and ten cents digits were the same for each product.

The showcases were just abysmal.

Any Number:  Too bad! :-(  I wonder if they had the 8 and the other 2 switched.  I couldn't believe that the GPS was only $270!
One Wrong Price:  Rats! :-(
Bonkers:  Awesome win! :-D  Besides the lights going nuts, I don't think the clock stopped right away after Dane hit the button & the bell rang.
Pick A Pair:  Tough loss! :-(
Dice Game:  Nice job! :-)  That was neat seeing all the numbers on one row for a change.
Double Prices:  Curses! :-(  Never would I have thought the price of the trip to Rome was $9,006! 8-O

Not too good overall, IMHO.

Today's lineup just sucked to no end. No "Ifs ands or buts about it" My 14 month old son could have put together a better lineup than what we got today. We need to get someone in there who has a clue as to what they are doing when it comes to putting a lineup together--someone like the Dob. I mean good grief, there was absolutely no reason not to play a SP game today or even a lengthier multi prize game (sub One Wrong Price out for Clearance Sale/Eazy/Spree/Take/Race/Credit and there you have it). And did we have to see Bonkers again for the 1000th time this year. Come on Adam, show a little creativity in putting these lineups together, is that too much to ask for?

I don't know, but I'm not going to fault Drew for not knowing 8 years worth of Bonkers records.

True, but in case anyone asks in this thread what the record is, I established what it may be.

It really does feel like they're only playing around 40 pricing games instead of using all the available games. I hope its not a sign of bad things to come.

-Lineup: -3. We had at least 90 seconds to have at least the SP if not something else nice (MP?).
-A#: What the, $270? I can't believe the obvious 8 was the right choice. Reverse evil FTL. 8/10
-ORP: Yeah, that one looked most right. :/ 7/10
-Bonkers: Excellent, did notice the clock ran longer as well as the light issue, second time it's malfunctioned a little. 10/10
-SD1: 80 wasn't lucky enough here. 4/5
-PaP: Sub this one out for Check-Out, grr. That was a pretty bad playing there too. 6/10
-Dicey: Sub this one out for OA, or Master Key! Not the easiest setup, but there was a -5 there again... 9/10
-DP: Sub this one out for Bonus! Yeah, that was a prime example of an implied loss. 7/10
-SD2: 4/5
-SC1: I actually liked this theme, it worked OK excluding the beginning & end (we can't have a themed SC w/o a recap??). 4.5/5
-SC2: A bit too random. 3.5/5
-Results: The expected double-garfarama. 7/10
-Drew: Did better with the OB ARPs today, but about 1 or 2 were still held too long. Also forgot to reveal Bonkers again w/o prompt. 8/10

PGs: 47/60
SDs: 8/10
SCs: 15/20
Drew: 8/10

78 - 3 = 75 --> C

Actually, the discs aren't magnets.  It's made of super-strength Velcro.  Here's the picture from the Golden Gallery.

I was disappointed with today's episode.  A lackluster lineup and lackluster performance from Drew.  This really didn't feel like the real Price Is Right that I thought was starting to creep back.

I want normal entrances again permanently.  Plain and simple.

It amazes me that with losses, like in Any Number and One Wrong Price today, resulting from looking to "them," people still look back all the time.

Bonkers!'s lights were sure acting goofy.  I almost thought it was a mistake announcement for a win when Dane pushed the button.  Glad to see that they were keeping on top of things while technical difficulties prevailed.

I wish Drew would go back to not doing the "wanna' say hi to anyone" bit with every contestant in the Showcase Showdowns.

Yay!  The real ticket plug!

Drew, it is too much to just reveal One Bid items' prices by just saying, "actual retail price..."?

I really, really wish Drew would stop with the "doesn't matter" routine with ones and sixes in Dice Game.  Regardless of how he feels about it or not, it conveys a real attitude of indifference; and Drew already shows too much of an "I don't give a darn" attitude too often.

Sheesh, what terrible Showcases today, and the dumb thing is that with a little better writing, both of them could have turned into something pretty decent, even making such a random prize as food for a year seem normal.  That had to be the most vague prize I've ever seen offered.  Nearly no details or specifics about what it was were given, and even with what was given, I don't see how anybody was supposed to make a reasonable estimate on what the package cost.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

I think this resulted from when Drew was rehearsing the games, Bart, Roger, or whomever told him that if a rolled six or one is incorrect, the correct automatically higher or lower, respectively.  That leads to this question, would indifference be conveyed to you if Drew just says "We know that it's higher/lower", preferably in a excited or at least happy tone, instead of saying "It doesn't matter."? I think, as much as it was a formality when Bob was hosting, just cutting to the chase saves time that can be used for other aspects of the show.  Then again, not doing the audience shots to commercials, Drew not being suspenseful on all one-bid reveals, and him cutting to the chase when it comes to gameplay would have the same effect as well.

Of course who knows. Maybe Drew did notice it but said nothing. And truthfully that's what should've been done, he said nothing. I don't think it would've been a smart idea for Drew to say, "well since the lights aren't working and we've had this issue before, were just gonna give you the prize whether you win or lose." Other contestants might've gotten p-ed off if he said it before Dane played the game. Thankfully Dane won on his own respectfully.
