The best part of today's show was that we got another pretty good lineup this week. The fact that Grand Game was played 5th rather than 1st was just great and about time. Spelling Bee first is a decent way to kick things off.

Hey, another cameo and this time it's the Incredible Hulk himself!

Could someone set One Wrong Price up fairly? It seems anymore in this game we've seen borderline unfair setups. That was just cruel.

Speaking of cruel, Bonkers was just downright nasty. How in the world was that trip $97xx?!?

Squeeze Play, however, was e-a-z-y az 1-2-3.  :P

Yeah, Bonkers was indeed a crapshoot. I've said before this is a purely guessing game, with the only strategy being to keep track of previous incorrect guesses. No Dude Ranch for her, I guess.

The coats in One Wrong Price were nice prizes ... but $4,000 for them? Holy moses, no wonder I got it wrong.

I was also fooled by the lotion being more than $7; I thought it was less and the cat food would be more.

Otherwise, straightforward day today.

Spelling Bee: I think that bath set was a trick to miss it.

One Bid 2: 150 for a dining group? I don't think that could be possible in '72.

Bonkers: Man, that was kinda slow and bad.

One Bid 3: "What's The Hulk doing here?"

One Wrong Price: I can understand thinking that a round number can be a wrong price, but it doesn't work all the time.

Any Number: I knew the other 1 had to be in the car's prize.

Grand Game: Gold Bond cheaper than 9 Lives? No.

Squeeze Play: TV? "Take out that 6!"

Showcases: I would've said around 17000 for Ryan's Showcase. But it looks like the dollar strategy worked yet again.

Spelling Bee! Good choice! Those headphones look like they're being modeled by a QBeez head (referring to an online game)
That's a cheap gift set! Good thing he had the R on his first pick. Also, Drew "Prop Fails" again at the end there with the second A.

One-Bid 2... I know <$400 bids are automatically tagged Stupid/Suicide, but $150 and $300 on a *dining group*?!

Bonkers... I swear there was a perfectly placed blue light shining off of that plunger today.
Kristen didn't make it look painful by any means today, but she was just a bit on the sluggish side. For whatever reason, I thought it was gonna be LLLL today... but no less that was a $9,000 trip. Wow!

Kind of a slow-dragged out cameo today. Inarguably not the caliber of ORP's jam session yesterday.

One Wrong Price- easily one of the more evil setups. I swear I could go to my local discount furniture store and get  a Queen or King size for less than that!

Kristen got bum-steered by the crowd again on the SCSD.
(I tried to do this myself, but I just *know* there's someone here who's mathematically calculated optimal spin/stay strategies. Does anyone have a mathematical proof of that in a file somewhere?)

"You could still be there, [Michael]."  :-D

$5000?! Whoa there, tiger.

Aha! Power of 10 Grand Game! And I love that grocery description cue too... that's my all time fave. I'm kinda getting bored of Drew saying "Oh really? Are you sure?" on the obvious ones, especially when Drew whiffed on it. (Then again, I did too.  8-))

I've seen that cooler a million times and was just mentally screaming "NINE-NINETY-NINE!!!" on that one-bid. Please God let that be one of the items if I become a contestant...

Trying to get in the head of the Price staff in Squeeze Play usually gives me a headache. Repeating digits? No? Maybe? I'm constantly feeling like I'm gonna get hit by reverse psychology every time I play along.

Hypothetical Bids:
SC1: $32699 (OVER)
SC2: $19250 (OVER)
= (GO HOME!)

Genuine thanks to CBS for prematurely posting the video! Today would've stunk for me!

---

I'm REALLY loving the fact that we're getting more variety in our pricing games. I hope that keeps up. Good show! :)

I liked the variety of games as well.  Having the original Hulk on was a nice touch.  That guys looks great considering the Incredible Hulk TV show was like 30 years ago!  You could tell the segment was chopped to bits in the editing process because Drew was tripping over his words.  One second Drew's standing next to Lou and the next he's back over by the contestants.  It's magic!

Since when have ITEMS up for bids become PRIZES Up for Bids?  Is this the new standard?  I wonder if there's logic behind this or just Drew making things up as he goes.

-Lineup: Pretty good, we've definitely had an improvement.
-Bee: El luck! 2nd SP was tough. 10/10
-Bonky: Wow, $9728 has to be the largest prize offered on this game. Still, she shouldn't have considered >8, but both >6 was a definite loss. 8/10
-OB3: This went pretty well, as Drew cracked a nice joke etc., but Lou should have come to Drew, as throwing to the first bid from the door was odd and led to a forced bad edit with Drew right back where he was.
-OWP: -000 is rare to see but that usually means it's right. -50 wrong to -99 = el loss. 8/10
-SD1: 4/5
-A#: Putting ALL of 4-8 not in the car, and 8.70 in the bank, is quite evil again. I was surprised he didn't win the bank the way it went. 8/10
-Grandy: I confused Gold Bonds, there's a 4.79 lotion and this big one...thought cat food was 7.51 from a past playing of Passy. 8/10
-Squeezy: El yep. 9/10
-SD2: 4/5
-SC1: It's been awhile, Fleetwood. Recapping works just fine with the swivel at the end. 5/5
-SC2: Fine, but there was a real recap again. :/ 4/5
-Results: Wow, it was a good $1 today because that could have been easily OVERed. That bar thing is no wine storage, that's for sure. Still, the Fleetwood <30k? There's a 32k one by itself, I know that... 7/10
-Drew: Nothing to report today, which was good. 9/10

PGs: 51/60
SDs: 8/10
SCs: 16/20
Drew: 9/10

84 --> B
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

I'd like to know how much individually the roofed bar set cost, as well as the electronic dart game.

"The models can talk!!  The models can talk!"  Wow....yet another benchmark on the low side.  I immediately changed the channel for a bit once I saw Drew standing next to him.  Maybe Drew's just setting the stage for Rosie to take over with her half talk show, half game show idea.  What do you "change is good"-ers think about that!

Oh, and in relation to OWP today, the sooner you all realize that the newer "designer" prizes are all leaning towards the "excessively over-ARPd", the easier those games will be for you.

With all due respect Willy, some of us think only good changes are good, not all kinds of change.  I don't know if you know this, but there was a half game show/half talk show done in the past, from almost 20 years ago, on Nickelodeon, it lasted more than the standard 65 episodes that other shows had during that time period.

In no stretch of the imagination do I and probably a lot of other people would want to see TPIR come to that.

Also, Rosie is now doing a new series on Lifetime, so it's unlikely CBS would give Drew the heave-ho after Nina Tassler gave a press release about the network being "cool" with him and with the controversy that Rosie generated on The View, I doubt people would want to see her host the show and/or CBS or Fremantle wouldn't want to hire her.  Not to mention her plans to move it across the country to New York City.

Games such as OWP won't hardly be won if those stupid "cool" prizes keep rearing their ugly heads in the show. Get rid of 'em.

While it isn't a catastrophe by any means, it's still kind of a laziness thing to an extent. However, I honestly didn't notice that word change today; I'm willing to bet the average guy didn't either. (Then again... we are not "average" fans)
