CSS Results for February 26
« on: February 26, 2009, 03:02:50 PM »
Just so you know how I do things, I bid first and then start to enter the bids into the template that I have that calculates differences and points. This morning, after I hit the SEND button and started to do the actual work portion, the first thought I had was "oh geez, I guess I really garfed that trip showcase..."

:dsw: Or not!!!

Seems that only four of us (one of whom went over on the other showcase) didn't bomb the unexpectedly inexpensive trip and Catalina boat combo. sideshowPA also DSWd along with me, and had a better bid on the first showcase. I get cash for the DSW, he gets the $35K for the car and the win. PriceFan14 also didn't go over. Then there's the rest of y'all.

Stage Player's had three DSWs in the past seven shows, but has only been able to take advantage of one because the others (like today) have involved an overbid by the other player. Still, nice going for the player who gets almost $53K in prizes.

Oh dear, there goes my ten-game no-OVER streak.  I haven't gotten a single overbid since February 9, but this flat-out sucks!  :-(

[NASCAR]

DW:  What a spectacular day here in Corpus Christi, and we've got a spectacular race goin' on here.
LM:  You have 25 cars out there, and they are racing together two...no...THREE-WIDE COMIN' INTO TURN ONE!
DW:  Uh-oh...
MJ:  Oh...and now GoldenBulldog has to check up and the field accordions back.
DW:  Uh-oh.  Uh-oh!
LM:  OH MAN--THIS IS GONNA HURT!

*Bulldog and pathfinder20 get together and spin into cu2010, and a major crash ensues.*

DW:  Here we go guys--here we go!
MJ:  CRASH--TURN TWO!  Fireball gets into FieldsFan336 and BigJon; dh27 and goldroadfanatic tangle together, and OH--BULLDOG'S OVER!  One...two...three times for GoldenBulldog!
DW:  Well there's the Big One.
LW:  There was absolutely nowhere to go in turn two.
DW:  You can't blame Bulldog here because he couldn't get a draft from his teammate PriceFan14.  BuddyTom and sideshowPA put the block on Bulldog, and that's what caused this mess.  Bulldog had no choice but to check up, and he would up smacking right into pathfinder20 causing all hell to break loose.
LM:  Awww man...Bulldog has got to be the sickest man on earth right now.  Up until today, he had ten straight races without a DNF; today, his car is totally demolished.
MJ:  Twenty-five cars have been involved, and let's take a look inside Bulldog's car to see what happened.

*insert in-car camera of Bulldog wrecking and flipping here*

[/NASCAR]

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

I was over by nearly TWO grand, but just think what would've happened had I kept my original bid of $17,127 on SC-2 instead of adding $2000 to it...yeah...a bonehead move on my part.  *puts on historian's dunce cap*

EDIT:  I cannot type anything today; my mental rangefinder is busted...

Tom, can we amend the rules to include the possibility of a "Host Blitz"?  If me AND Buddy Tom are ever the only point scorers for a day, we earn triple points....

The chances of that happening would be just the same as the Eagles winning a Super Bowl--slim to none at all.

About the same chance as the Cowgirls actually winning a playoff game...

That's right.....I went there....

Agreed, Wayo. I had it at around 10k, especially since it had some extra things attached to it.

Maybe they should spend some of that money on building a team that plays like a team? ;)
