Just two comments about today:

1) Glad to see the call-down box return!
2) The new DSW graphic stinks. Period.

Everything about One Away was beautiful.  Rachel was a great contestant, and Drew's interaction with her and his actual hosting of the game were flat-out awesome!  Is that the fastest anyone's ever made their choices in One Away?  If it weren't for Rachel's savoring asking the sound effects people, you could almost swear she was trying to hurry the show along herself :oldlol:!

The lineup was going so well... then Pick a Number just had to rear in its ugly head for no good reason.  Why no Take Two?  There was time for Take Two!  Heck, even a not-so-rare but still longer game would've been acceptable!  Short lineups really would work better when the sixth game isn't a short game, since at least then, we're not building anticipation for nothing.

Richard's work during Master Key was beautiful.  Great to hear The Big Banana there still.

And so it gets better . . . shall it remain as such?  I can only hope as it's starting to look really good.

Too bad we'll probably never find out about the 5th wheel at the opening.

Also, Flat Stanley

What we saw of Rich today was all we really ever asked for

New DSW graphic looks kinda neat...needs to be a bit "louder" visually IMO...but still looks great.

Drew, great job on revealing the middle prize with the Master Key...I don't hink Bob ever did that.

I liked how Rich was shown at the top of the show when Drew gave him a shout out.

Pretty neat show today, but I gotta agree with mrbrown and say the DSW graphic was just pitiful. It's so small, dinky, and lifeless, that it actually downplays the big moment of having a huge win like that. Why is the word "double" so much smaller than the other two words in the graphic?

I didn't think the DSW graphic was that bad, but certainly it is less colorful and attention getting than the old one.

I thought today's show was one of the best ones I've seen recently.

Ana's story about her recovery from serious injuries suffered in a car accident was downright inspirational.

Rachel (the One Away player) was a hoot. Classic-style hosting in that segment, and it was too bad that Rachel lost. FWIW, I would have lost this one, too (I would have changed the second number to a "1"). Gee whiz, Pontiac Vibes have gotten more expensive lately.

And wasn't that an awesome comeback in Master Key? To see that the first key was a "dud" and then pick the Master Key to win everything ... a great moment! Too bad the price cards didn't exactly want to cooperate with Drew.

Yes, there were a few petty annoyances with Drew's hosting, but (today at least) these I think are more his enthusiasm for hosting the show rather than outright weaknesses, IMO. I do wish he had flipped the prize cards for the Grand Game items that went unpicked; then again, it looked like he paused as though he were going to show the rest of the answers before he turned to the contestant, so it could — and I stress could — have been that someone off stage signaled to him (e.g., the director putting the index and middle fingers together and vertically twirling them beside his head) that he needed to hurry and wrap the segment up.

Today, we had two contestants shown to the proverbial "First Four Clubhouse," and for a moment there, I was beginning to wonder if we'd have the "gang of three" (as I used to think of it, whether Bob did or not) remain in Contestants Row — i.e., three CR contestants never winning their way on stage; all six winners come from the same spot. With that question in mind — Steve, I know I've asked you several questions this week, but ... when was the last time three contestants remained in Contestants Row the entire show, for all six IUFBs, and never won their way on stage?

Yep, I was wondering when they would eventually have rich on camera when drew gives him the shout out.  Also the calldown box was a great surprise to see since season 30.  I just wonder if that will be happening everyday now like rod roddy days or if it will just happen randomly.  All they need to now is show rich when redescribing a prize or if drew or the contestant asks about an item again.  DiPirro is kicking tush with the directing.

I liked today's ep. especially when Drew gave a shout out to Rich and he was shown on camera. Speaking of which, I have read that he was shown calling a contestant to come on down....um, I taped the show and did NOT see him in a window calling a contestant's name, what half did this take place in?

I just re-watched the tape and seen it was before the 4th pricing game

-Grandy: That was a definite trap. That was the same 3.99 TheraGesic from Hi/Lo car. 8/10
-ORP: That was a bit of a crapshoot, but it doesn't matter when we wanted her to win... :) 10/10
-OA: That should have been won due to repeats, but she was a nice contestant, so -  8/10
-SD1: 4/5
-Freezy: Relatively easy. 9/10
-Key: Yeaaaaaaah!! With another great backstory! 11/10
-OB6: I'm relatively sure I can expect this again tomorrow. :)
-Pa#: This game's too hot to stop! 9/10
-SD2: 5/5
-SC1: Things worked fine. 5/5
-SC2: This also worked pretty well. 5/5
-Results: YEAAAAAAAAAH!!!! And, give DiPirro a chance to adjust. This was only his 7th show on the job, and the DSW graphic wasn't exactly a primary focus. I didn't find it much of a dropoff from the last one, personally. 11/10
-Drew: Besides rushing ORP a bit at the beginning for no reason, no problems - 9/10

PGs: 55/60
SDs: 9/10
SCs: 21/20
Drew: 9/10

94 --> A!

Very enjoyable show today.

I hated the previous DSW graphic, largely because of the font. Can't stand it. It looks terrible. (It should also be banned from the art cards)

The new one can use a bit of refining, like making "Double" at least the size of the other words, and adding some extruded drop shadow so that it stands out like it should. The fireworks are nice, though.

Grand Game: The evil Hot Pockets Value Pack rears its ugly head again and suckers another contestant into picking it! BZZZZ!!!!!!
One Right Price: Hooray for Ana's recovery since her accident! I applauded her when she told Drew and the world how no one even gave her a chance to stand or walk again. So congratulations Ana for proving the nay-sayers wrong! And congrats on winning the fireplace and the clothes.
One Away: I thought Rachel was gonna get all 5 on the first try. She went against the audience on the first 3 (they were screaming 1)... but then went with them on changing the fourth number to a 3 as well? Killed it. She shoulda changed the 8 to a 6. Oh well. Least she showed enthusiasm while playing the game.
Freeze Frame: I honestly had no idea what the price of the bed could be. Thank god Lorna did, though.
Master Key: Been a long time since I last saw this game played. And another contestant with a great backstory. Trevell manages to find both the "dud" and the Master Key!?!?!? Awesome!
PUFB #6: WOO-HOO!!! The return of the "Come On Down" box!!!
Pick A #: Was torn between the 6 and the 7. Good thing she knew it was the 7.
SCSD 2: A $1000 win... and a new $1000 graphic!
Showcase 1: What? Rich didn't address both Lorna and Catherine in the beginning!? C'mon!!! You had it right the past few days! And the Hybrid Prius makes its triumphant return... and with the swirling column thingies!!! OOOOH!!! *hypnotized*
Showcase 2: In a way, I was kinda expecting Tom Stever to sample what he was preparing. But he didn't.  :D But an interesting showcase nonetheless... from a Dining Room group with the Big City chef messing with chocolate and tying it in with a trip to Belgium!? More chocolate!!!

Not to mention Lorna cleaning house with her :dsw:. Didn't care much for the new DSW graphic, but I guess it'll change eventually. Just gotta give DiPirro some time.  :-D
