Katherine was fun to watch with her claiming to be obsessed with the show, but it's a shame she lost Cover Up.  I do wonder if that has ever happened before, the contestant gets only the first number right on the first turn, but loses on the second.

Some will complain that Drew should have done a Bob-like reveal of the ball in Shell Game; stacking all of the unchosen shell's chips and setting them aside and then going down the line to see where the ball is.  To be fair, there probably wasn't enough time for Drew to do that, given how rushed the show is these days.

Renee and Michael were full of energy and fun to watch when they ran over to their prizes as soon as they won (and without Drew telling them to do so!).  I'm not bothered when it comes to Drew telling contestants to see their prizes, mind you, but it was nice to see them run to their prizes on their own free will.

The first showcase, in my opinion, had some good writing from Drew, it had a theme about relaxation that combined the prizes.

I will say that the Pontiac G3 is the first Pontiac subcompact offered on the show in over 15 years, since the God-awful LeMans of the late '80's and early '90's.  Also it's the first Chevrolet Aveo or Aveo variant offered in quite some time, and in the Post-Roger era.

Gee, I wonder whose idea THAT was to play Shell Game for a Cleveland Cavaliers NBA game? (wink, wink)

I didn't see it, but on paper it appears as though this was a great playing and that Courtney was a good contestant.

By my records, today marks the first time since January 14 that four pricing games were won in a row in the same episode (going by original airdate).  It was nice to see these winners today, after so many losses in the last few months.

I should also note that Shell Game remains the only game not lost yet in the Carey era, although it has only been played seven times in that period.

There's no "ifs ands or buts" about it--Cover Up was just painful!

Shell Game!!! :-D :-D Just seeing Shell Game brought a smile to my face.

What playing of Pick a Number was that today? The 25th of the season? We're gonna hit 30 for this game this season.

If Michael had lost Line 'Em Up I would have hated to be him.  :-P

The TV 14 bug was on the east coast too. I wonder how that mistake managed to end up on both tapings (I'd think if they realized what happened on the East, they'd edit it in the West), it's something I've never seen before on any show, really.
Yeah...let's make this current shall we?

Actually, today's was number 24.  Next playing ties the record of Pick-a-Number playings in one season, set back in Season 22.

-Lineup: YAY SHELLY!
-Cover: Very poorly played. Yes, the Impala is expensive, Peanut Gallery. 6/10
-ME: Vintage can sometimes be cheap... 8/10
-Shelly: A 2nd perfect playing in a row? :O 10/10
-SD1: 4/5
-Pa#: Yep, -495 was a no doubter. 9/10
-Liney: There we go. 10/10
-Bullsy: He almost blew it, but righted himself on the lower-end fish sticks, not fillets. 9/10
-SD2: 4/5
-SC1: Felt a bit cobbled together again. 4.5/5
-SC2: Not sure what that babble was at the beginning...I sense a double cobbling today. 4/5
-Results: I wasn't sure on the G3 compared to the G6...turns out it is what the numbers suggest, really cheap. That was probably looking for an easy OVER. I had a good gut feeling India was $$$$ like Egypt. 8.5/10
-Drew: Did pretty well all-around today, so I'll give the 9. I wouldn't expect him to do Shelly right in the 4/4 situation, as he said, it's been a very long time...

PGs: 52/60
SDs: 8/10
SCs: 17/20
Drew: 9/10

86 --> B
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

Cover Up: Wow. That was a horrible loss.

Most Expensive: With all the designer products we’ve been seeing lately, I picked those myself. I would have won. Imagine that.

Shell Game:  It’s nice to be able to type “Shell Game” when doing a recap again. It’s also nice that we got a textbook playing of this game as well as a $500 bonus win. :-D

Pick-a-Number: Renee’s reaction to winning PAN was just priceless.

Line ‘em Up: I would have been stunned if he lost this game, considering his wife already owns one.

Bullseye: Great playing today.

Showcases: That must have been one great trip to India.

Fantastic show today. We got two fantastic contestant reactions to winning during PAN and Line em Up. We also got a textbook playing of Shell Game. (I was just glad to see it get played, let alone won.)

Shell Game!!! :-D :-D Just seeing Shell Game brought a smile to my face.

Rob, it brought a big smile to my face. I would like to see a few more playings every season, but not too many (8 to 10 playings per season would do). I wouldn't want to see this game become one of those games that get so overplayed, it almost pains me to see it.

Cover Up was absolutely incredible -- not in a good way, mind you, but incredible nonetheless.  Those were the two most amazing turns I've ever seen in that game, for two completely different reasons.

SHELL GAME!!!  And played perfectly, too!  And Drew didn't even screw it up!

Cover Up:  Tough loss! :-(  I think Spelling Bee would've worked better first.
Most Expensive:  Rats - shot down by the clothes again! :-(
Shell Game:  Nice to see this one again & really nice to see a perfect playing & a $500 bonus win! :-D
Pick A Number:  I was waiting for the second number to be 6.  What a great reacton to winning the trailer!  Can you imagine Renee's reaction if she'd won a car?
Line Em Up:  Nice job! :-)  That probably would've been embarrassing if Michael would've lost seeing how he owns a Focus already.
Bullseye:  I was surprised when I found out the fish fillets were $3.39 - I thought they'd be 5 something! 8-O

Great show overall, IMHO.

Cover Up: That was one of the worst playings of this game ever.

Most Expensive: Well, it's back to the big buzzer again. And another victim claimed by those evil designer clothes.

Shell Game: Welcome to Cleveland! And that was one of the best playings of this game I've ever seen.

IUFB4: Vicki's playing of that guitar was just plain awesome!

Pick-a-Number: What a surprising win!

Line em Up: First a total bomb, then an amazing comeback! And he just won a second Focus??? I'm loving it!

Bullseye: Another nice win here.

Showcases: Personally, I've never seen a Pontiac G3 before (which is based off the Aveo), and I've figured that it would be a step below the G5 (based off the Cobalt) and two below the G6 (based off the Malibu). Well, it debuted on the show a little too late, as Pontiac is now set to ride off into the sunset. Glad to see it won, though.

Well, the only thing worse than the LeMans would have to be the 1000, which was based off the equally-bad Chevette.

IGNORE THE '14-D' RATINGS BUG! Price is ALWAYS a 'G' rated show. Period.

Not unless Wagner shows up again. :P

Cover:  Katherine may have lost in just two turns, but at least she lost while unconsciously trying the Cover Up Strategy®.

Shelly:  Yay!  Shell Game! :P And that's how you play this game, too!

My showcase bids:
India--$18,007
Room/car--$21,007
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Well, the only thing worse than the LeMans would have to be the 1000, which was based off the equally-bad Chevette.

As some of our older members may think, the Pontiac Astre (a clone of the Chevrolet Vega) was much worse than the T1000/1000 that succeeded it.
