-Lineup: Alright, I guess. Think an MP could have gotten in
-Punchy: He's lucky there was backup at the end, otherwise you should always take 1000... 8/10
-Money: How'd he know?? 9/10
-Switch: This was unfair - both are approximately the same distance from LA or anywhere else, for that matter. 9/10
-SD1: 4/5
-Pappy: This must have been the most explosive win ever. :P 9/10
-Cardy: This wasn't too hard...wonder why she thought it was cheap. 7/10
-Balance: Wow, that much for real? 8/10
-SD2: 6/5
-SC1: Meh...double trips on the little screens don't work, I think. 4/5
-SC2: This one worked much better. Look at all the stuff! 5/5
-Results: What the heck? A random stoner bid that was way off the mark (why am I not surprised?). Boring bidding today 8/10
-Drew: That Money reveal didn't work since Jeremy dropped the 54. Also, he mumbled at the end of Cardy, not caring about -357. 7/10

PGs: 50/60
SDs: 10/10
SCs: 17/20
Drew: 7/10

84 --> B
S5x... the show's stabilized into something decent now, I guess...

To those who may complain that the staff was sloppy with the Money Game setup today ("39" was in the Rose Marie spot instead of 37), riddle me this:

For years, before Season 34, when Roger was still producer, there were random numbers in that spot, and nobody seemed to have a problem with that.

Actually, I think there shouldn't be a constant fake that doesn't end in 0 or 5 like we've been seeing with -37 lately. It's deadweight most of the time and only helps LFaTs to win quicker.

Today was one of those "been there, done that" lineups. I could have done without Punch a Bunch first, but at least Money Game wasn't lead off so there's a bright spot.

Switch? was uniquely bizzare to say the least.

Whoo hoo, Balance Game last!!!! I'm glad we are seeing all sorts of games last other than the usual suspects. Pocket earlier this week, now Balance. What next? Switcheroo? (here's hopin' :-P)

Drew's hosting was abysmal in spots today--especially at the end of Card Game today. He never should have mumbled that line about "not caring about the 357" or whatever it was that he said. That's the one of the most frustrating things about Drew--his innate ability to just start mumbling at any time during any point of the show.

True, but once the joke was started and even continued into this season, nobody expected it to suddenly not be there.
Roger Dobkowitz's Seven Commandments of The Price Is Right:
1. Tape and edit the show as if it were live.
2. Never tell the contestant what to do.
3. Size matters. (The bigger the prize, the better the prize and the bigger the reaction.)
4. All prizes are good.
5. Never do anything on the show that would embarrass a parent with a kid watching.
6. Never put on a prize that would make the show look cheap.
7. It’s the game, stupid! (It’s about the game.)

Punch-a-Bunch: I kind of liked the new picture of Drew on the $25,000 bill. Why in the world would someone need a marshmallow rifle? It was kind of ironic though, with each card, the value was cut in half.

Money Game: Nice win. I’m surprised that 37 wasn’t on the board.

Switch?: I would definitely like both of those trips come January.

Pick-a-Pair: Nice win.

Card Game: Another Honda. I’m sorry, what was the actual retail price of the car?? (sarcasm).

Balance Game: $15,000 for a piano? Tough loss.

SCSD #2: a bonus spin/spin-off is always a nice thing to see.

Showcases: Interesting how they had the shots superimposed on the TV.

O.K. show today, aside from the Card Game moment. Balance Game last was a nice touch.

Whoo hoo, Balance Game last!!!! I'm glad we are seeing all sorts of games last other than the usual suspects. Pocket earlier this week, now Balance. What next? Switcheroo? (here's hopin' :-P)

I wouldn't object to seeing a game like Bonus Game show up last (if we manage to get one more playing this season). It would be the first time that game was played last since February 9th, 2006.  :-)

Punch-a-Bunch: I agree, that is one of the best Drew pictures on the $25,000 bill. When Lanisha starts shooting those marshmallows, look out!

Money Game: Could it be that 54 is the new go-to number?

Switch?: I would've left them both alone as well.

Pick-a-Pair: As soon as I saw the Nesquik price, I knew the game was won.

Card Game: She came up a little too short...

Balance Game: That was one friggin' expensive piano!

SCSD 2: I'm sort of mixed on this. The good: a Bonus Spin/spinoff. The bad: DiPirro needs to utilize the split-screen arrow a lot more.

Showcases: After that Card Game fiasco, Lafaye recovers quite nicely to win her Showcase.

Miscellaneous: Not too bad, but they need to stop playing those cash games first all the time.

Punch-a-Bunch: "Since we're going down by halves, what's half of $250? $1000."

Money Game: I would have wasted three chances trying to get the first two numbers. 15 instead of 20.

Switch?: I don't know why I wanted to switch. Maybe because of a recent playing that is confusing to recall.

Pick-a-Pair: If you're a dancer in a show, you're more likely to be picked and asked to perform anytime during the taping session.

Card Game: Good. $2000. I'm optimistic LaFaye's gonna win. Nope, according to Drew, not the difference nor the buzzer nor the horns.

Balance Game: Man, that's a high price for a baby grand.

Punchy:  Good, they're back to a semi-normal picture on the $25,000 bill.

Money:  WTF was 39 doing on the board in 37's place?

PAP:  Yay!  Temptation cue! :P

My showcase bids:
Trips--$18,107
Outdoor/trailer--$35,507
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

I was acutally hoping for a better lineup, but you know what, today seemed "normal" for once, except for the fact that Drew mumbles in Card Game.

If anyone was paying attention, it looked like in a closeup that Card Game needs some serious remodeling (wear and tear?)... but that's just me, it looked like the wood was warping and the green felt needed touchups.

All in all, a pretty good show.

The Rose Marie spot?  I had to look that one up in search.  It's a reference to Hollywood Squares?

If you looked at the huge tic-tac-toe board from Hollywood Squares, particularly the Marshall era, Rose Marie usually sat in the top row, center column.  Fireball used that term a number of times over the years, and I used it in this recap thread today.

Punch A Bunch:  I liked the picture of Drew on the big bill.   I actually think that the marshmallow gun is neat.
Pick A Pair:  Nice win and nice dancing! :-)
Balance Game:  That sure was an expensive piano!

Pretty good show overall, IMHO.

Nope, Bonus Game was played last earlier this season for a car--it was real early in the season with one of Roger's last lineups he had put together for this year before he was unceremoniously dumped. 2 for the Price of 1 was played 5th--prior to Bonus Game that day. Gas Money, I believe, was the one true car game that day.
