I think I seen a totally different show than some people here. One of the first things that went through my mind after the show was "WHERE'D DREW CAREY GO?!?!". I thought he did a SPECTACULAR job hosting today - everything from his banter with Rich, to his actually-funny comment about the Smart Car & his build up in Hi-Lo. I hope he hosts like this more often. What bothered me on today's show was the set. Yes, it looks good from afar, but I find that the turntable games look so out of place - especially when the shots are showing above the top of the turntable itself, it looks weird. As for the showcases, they were very good today; they felt like good ol' fashioned TPiR Showcases.

:-)  Much better show today... Nice to see Card Game again...
I would give it an excellent rating, or 85%.   :-)

Ton80:  Contestants have been allowed to hold aces since the game became New Card Game back in 1983.  It was never something that Bob encouraged, though, and I think now we're seeing why.

Promoman:  Roger confirmed a few years ago that aces cannot be negative numbers.

However, if Drew says something like, "Just tell us what you want your bid to be"  doesn't that sort of imply that I can say 19,000 even if I'm already at 20,000?

Contestants are nervous enough...The whole, what do I do with and Ace thing frequently seems to add even more pressure to the contestant.

If that comes up, the appropriate response is, "That would make the ace a negative number, and you can't do that."

And if you're at $20,000 and you wanted to bid $19,000...why did you keep drawing in the first place?

Well it's hard to blame Drew for emphasizing the rule.  Usually, he's forgetting rules!!  I think that the "hold the ace" is one rule that I wish Drew would forget - it shouldn't be part of the game.

KIRO was a bit late to the party today. Over 60 seconds of black screen. Nice.
A similar thing happened to me yesterday and today with KREM 2 (Spokane).  They played commercial until right after the first four were called down.  If I remember correctly the same thing happened during last season's premiere week (everyday except Monday).  I wonder what the deal is?

The confetti at the end of the first showcase was kind of pointless. I know the theme was partying, but confetti should be saved for momentous occasions.

This show was MUCH better than the premiere episode.

Congrats to Nicole for wanting to study Chemical Engineering.  It's a good field to take; I oughta know. ;-)

Wow, the SPs in Secret X were actually reasonable.  And it resulted in the 1st official win of the season!

I know it's a half-gallon, but $9 for peanut butter!?

Woo!  Card Game finally showed up!  Funny that they change the showcase podia, but leave the eggcrate display in Card Game.  Great win, too!
