CSS Results for October 1
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:47:21 PM »
Every time some ritzy-sounding private jet trip to a place is offered, some people overshoot it. Today is no exception. And then one person has to go and be different and give a half-decent bid on that showcase only to bomb the other by almost $5K (hi, Frank!) I'm satisfied in that while I did nothing stellar, I did manage to avoid mega-garfs on both showcases.

PriceFanArmadillo has a clear win and were it not for SenorBeef, would have had a hard DSW. But winning the more expensive showcase and the top points slot should be enough for him today. SenorBeef snagged the games and Vegas package with a $280 difference.

It's the bids on SC2 that are below the price of a Ford Focus that kind of have me puzzled... well there's only one of them, but still. And someone suggested that perhaps you only get the car "for a year!" like almost everything else in the showcase. Seriously, have that many servants ever been offered before?

Heh, and I was worried that shaving $1,010 off of my SC2 bid would come back to bite me.

I think this may be the first time that I overbid a Friggin' Random Private Jet Showcase.

:headbang:
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

In a way, it did. It deprived you of a couple points.

16300/34500...

...yeah.

Also, for the second show...28000/26500.

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Well, this was bound to happen.  Every single time I've been able to play in CSS this season, I garfed quite badly on random stuff.  But today, when I was in class and unable to play along, I would have had bids of $18,270 / $33,410.

...Which means I would have cashed on the car with a near-DSW and finished second overall.  And with my luck, tomorrow will be another total garf-o-palooza.

So I'm already out $33,842 in cash this season because of my class schedule this fall.

$16,300/$31,200 and $23,300/$29,100... I can live with losing Show B, but losing Show A stings, since I really liked my chances. No shame in losing to bids like that, though... excellent performance.

$16,000/$30,470 and $21,120/$28,000 for Kristin... I win both games to make the score more in my favor, which is how it should be. :P
