Eh, what's up, Doc?  That was a good episode.  By the way, I admit that the first items up for bids looked great on Rachel Reynolds-Delucci.  I know that this may sound silly, but do you think that it is possible that there may be a photo of her dark blue pumps?  If not, then I understand.  Th-th-th-that's all Folks!

The "Price Look of the Week" is making it blatantly obvious who they're gearing the show for.
I don't think it has to be a zero sum game where appealing to women means the show is turning its back on male viewers. I'm a straight guy. I like the current group of models, and I don't find have designer clothes/accessories occassionally to be unappealing. Or maybe you mean something else besides  gender. I like the Look of the Week idea.

The first half consisted of a 1/2-Off wipeout, a decent win in PAN, and an exacta in Line 'em Up.
The Line 'em Up win without even needed the second chance was awesome. I can't remember the last time I saw that. I thought the small prize in Half Off were pretty tough.

Did they change the explanatory intro to Let 'em Roll where they show what all six sides of each die look like? It seems like that was cut out unless I just turned away and missed it.

Ahh!!! The return of the evil 5-hour Jet Card!!!
It's stinky how the copy for the initial reveal always makes it sound like you're winning a jet ("your own private jet"). Then they clarify the ride part.

I just thought of a way to have a vintage car in a showcase and have it work.

FIRST PRIZE:

A Home Theater with TV and a copy of the Back To The Future trilogy.

SECOND PRIZE (1950s)

That Restaurant Booth dinette set or the Retro refrigerator from today's show.

THIRD PRIZE (1980s)

A DeLorean. The company that owns the name has plenty of New Old Stock parts to build whole cars. They're about $25,000 each.

This showcase that takes you Back To The Future can be yours...If the Price Is Right!

I just thought of a way to have a vintage car in a showcase and have it work.

I hate to rain on your parade, but what part of "no reasonable way to ascertain the fair market value of a vintage car" is hard to understand? You could have two '56 Chevy Bel Airs, restored, sitting side by side, with two completely different market values.

It's not a matter of "making it work" within a showcase script.

I don't think it has to be a zero sum game where appealing to women means the show is turning its back on male viewers. I'm a straight guy. I like the current group of models, and I don't find have designer clothes/accessories occassionally to be unappealing. Or maybe you mean something else besides  gender. I like the idea too, but its presentation needs to be cleaned up. Today, it just seemed like it was there and slightly out-of-place.

"The Price Look of the Week" - oy vey. While I certainly understand Steve's point that it makes it look like the designer crap has a purpose, can you make the presentation of it a bit more straightforward and not look so ridiculously out-of-place and cheesy (with the camera snaps) please? Gosh, for a second there I forgot I was watching Price Is Right. And how in the world is someone supposed to price all that together anyway? *Sigh* I'll take it though if it means we see less (and by less, I mean almost no) designer crap in the other 29 one-bids per week.

This was one of those shows that was just all over the place. Gameplaywise: LEU exacta, 1/2 Off wipeout that shouldn't have happened, and terrible luck in Let 'em Roll. And prizewise it was interesting. Ridiculously huge bass boats, $25,000 flight cards - we're certainly going all-out in the prize department. No wonder we're overbudget. Oh, and offering a $3,600 TABLE as an item up for bids. Lame. Today just didn't do it for me - it felt too weird and out of place compared to a lot of the previous shows. Hopefully, we can recover tomorrow.

Timings:
1/2 Off (5.5) - 5:52
Pick A Number (3.5) - 2:45
Line 'Em Up (5.5) - 4:22
Balance Game (4) - 4:00
One Right Price (3.5) - 3:32
Let 'Em Roll (5.5) - 5:09
Timings (27.5): 25:40

One thing the "Look of the Week" does is it alerts the contestants to designer merchandise. (It's not going to help everyone, but the lousy bid is not a new invention.)

Many of the plebs in Contestants Row would hear "a collection of Cole Hahnnn shoooooooooooooooes", and figure $50 a pair, 6 pairs, $300. Then Drew just laughs at them, and that's not fun.

The winner of the "Look" placed a really good bid as a result. Drew had to ad-lib rather than go to his well with "you missed it by almost $2,000, and you still won."

Remember, kids, back in the dark ages with Uncle Bill, on the daytime show they would roughly have one of these fashion presentations every ding-donged day. They had full-time fashion commentators, similar to what you'd find on Barker-era Miss USA pageants and "Queen for a Day". So be happy this is a once-a-week thing, for now.

Also, they may not spring this as a one-bid item every week. Who's to say you couldn't use this as the bonus prize in Clock Game? Or a super-luxe look with some pricey jewelry thrown in for Grocery, Shell, Pick-a-Pair, or what have you? Just so they don't use it in coin-flippers like Coming or Going or Side by Side.

Or how about Rich going all GQ in an immaculate Italian suit? Some of the gals around here would like that.

I'm perfectly fine with the "Look of the Week".  Pool together a package with the clothes/shoes/handbag/cosmetics and peddle it for the first bidding round or even the first game.  You know what else?  I'd be perfectly alright if they messed with the contestant order to have four women bid on it.

(And before you go saying HE WANTS TO RIG THE CONTESTANT SELECTION, think about this:  Stan picks 5 women and 4 men to be contestants.  Just put 4 women at the start to bid/play for these things.)
They can be close at the top, too.

OMG!!  ADDITION!!!  NOOOO!!!!

PLOW (Price Look of the Week) isn't going to be that bad, but boy did it remind me of the Old Navy Deal of the Week.
